I can see why you would think this - an OCdt and Pte are paid almost exactly the same. However the OP would be entering as a DEO A/SLt (aka 2Lt) and thus make nearly $1000/month more than a Pte.

Complete MARS-SS training to NOPQ level - 2 years
Complete shore based submarine training (AILS, AILV) - 6 months
Qualify as a MARS-SUB at sea (i.e. get your dolphins and officer qual) - 6 months to 1 year depending on circumstances

LOL! I was there for the SCLE briefings and that was never briefed. It wasn't true then and isn't now. Here is an official CF reference that states the Victoria Class "are expected to operate into the 2030s" - either provide a verifiable reference for your claims or stay in your lane.
