"When you're broken and bleeding
on Afghanistan's plains,
and the women come out
to cut up what remains,
then crawl to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
and go to your Gawd like a soldier."
That is by Kipling.
Nelson - the Truth: - VERY FUNNY ;D
THE BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR (TWO HUNDRED YEARS ON
Nelson: "Order the signal, Hardy
Hardy: "Aye, Aye, sir
Nelson: "Hold on, that's not what I dictated to the Signals Officer. What's the meaning of this?
Hardy: ...
The Secretary general today once again asked the world to start providing funds to prevent a second disaster in the region of Pakistan hit by the earthquake.
Not much money is forthcoming and already people are asking where is the UN?
If no one pays up and thousands more die - who will be...
All Canadian soldiers are murdering and corrupt. Why do I say this? Because based on the logic displayed here they must be. Some soldiers supplied to the UN are murderers, some are corrupt. They are soldiers from their nations armies. Canada supplies soldiers to the UN, some have committed...
On a more serious note one should remember that peacekeeping is not an end in itself. It is only supposed to provide a degree of security for both sides who must want peace in the first place. The UN cannot be blamed for other entities who decide that they do not want to stop fighting.
I also...
Personally I was always of the opinion that "any idiot can be uncomfortable" and that a true soldier should have the ability to make himself comfortable no matter what the circumstances.
Maybe that is now old fashioned :-\
Are people really suggesting that the US should be able to just walk across the border and take these people? Are there any other circumstances that you feel the US should be able to just walk in and do what it likes in Canada?
I always thought that Canada was an independent country and proud...
Actually I see no problem with deserters from the US being allowed to stay in Canada.
Is it against Canadian law to desert from the US?
Are these people a threat to the people of Canada?
I am no fan of deserters as my avitar might suggest, but why should Canada deport people to the US just...
To be honest although it all looks a bit exciting CP work in Iraq is in reality dirty and dangerous with no long term prospects. I have several mates out there at the moment, they all love the big bucks, but all wonder where they will go next. Fortunately I do not need to go there, as my...
Well first off if you are considering CP work - are you qualified?
Personally I would not consider any company that would employ non-qualified personnel in this role. After all it would be my arse that is sat next to them, and I would not want its safety in the hands of someone who was not...
Well if the educationally sub-normal such as Lyndie England can get through the training system - how much lower are they going to make their standards?
And how does any of that relate the idea that these people are less deserving?
These are not bravery awards, they are turning up awards. If people want gongs because they want to feel heroic they need to do something heroic, being an infantryman is not in itself heroic, nor is being shot...
Well I used to work for a PMC.
You have to remember like all companies there are good ones and bad ones.
I was lucky in that my company DSL (now taken over by Armour Group) was a good one. Some of the companies for whom some of my mates worked were truly awful and treated their staff much...
It appears to me that some posters on here would prefer that the British did nothing. I wonder if they would then be complaining that the British Army had abandoned their own if the soldiers had their heads removed Bigley style?
As for the policeman praying in room - so what? Is it suggested...
