Some guys and gals come out of their officer training unfit, sure they might be able to run during PT but come time in the field they suck and believe it or not their history degree is of no use to them. :cdn:

I don't mind fresh food, but it's best for a range or something like that. I f we only do week long Ex's once ot twice a year we should make them as real a we can. Smokers are always awsome. (It's funny how on the warning order, they stress "DRY EX" but come the smoker things get wet) :cdn:

It isn't too hard to get on a tour if you are in the reservist, I had only been in 2 years and got on Roto-13, so it's not that hard. Also if you don't want to go home on your leave, you can buy a flight some place else and DND will pay for some of it around what it would cost to dend you...

A padre's word of advice can be over-powered by your platoon or company commanders, but that almost never happens because most think his word is too close to gods?   Thats what I was told. :cdn:

The RCD BG gave me mine on tour and I still got it. Works good but is more for "short term" use unlike the webbing, it's easier to run in and fit's lots.

I do know about the risk of getting sent "out west" but risk is part of the job. I am thinking about putting in a transfer to 3RCR, I was wondering what kind of cash you guys clear in a month, and when you will be going on the next Afghanistan rotation?   Also what kind of financial benefits dose the army give you (ie. Housing, auto insurance anything like that.) :cdn:
