END of an ERA (the wedge)

I hope he had his Oakleys on also..... 8) I've asked for clarification when it comes to the CADPAT rainjacket or the middle weight one and this new policy. In aircrew world, mixing of the CADPAT jackets/1 pc flying suit/wedge is the norm but once we 1 wing folks get our 2 pc CADPAT flying...

    Proper protocol for Officer Cadets

You army and navy guys....sheesh....when we see a pinstripe, we usually introduce ourselves by our first name, ask them their first name and then call them by their first name.....also applies to 2nd Lt's, Lt's and Captains ;D

    Vancouver Olympics

One of the pitfalls, granted, but I doubt many on the ground will have a view of the hockey games either. But either way, it's going to be a blast....boring most of the time but will beat being in Wainwright or wherever.

    Naval Reserves in Afghanistan

I'll go along with that axeman. Here's a pic of a .50 cal on the Protecteur during roto 1 in '02. Me, being an ex army type saw this and could not believe what I saw. Seems it's the norm for the most part. All the .50's were in the same shape.

    remuster/enroll as FE...

Well cndaviator...he obviously wasn't thinking but he seemed to have got that army stuff out of his system, or so he thinks. Odds are, he'll stay in Edmonton. But still better than being back in a regiment. RR....Trenton, still flying the Griffs outta there. A guy who just finished his 5's got...

    remuster/enroll as FE...

Well......that's good news. I kind of figured it was possible, seeing how we need FE's. 34 guys applied since the summer/fall and all 34 got accepted. Even a combat engineer got accepted after remustering to that trade 4 years ago from AVN. You'd have some time as the next 2 serials are full...

    CH-146 Griffon

Only time towards a promotion to Corporal.........You'd get 12 months credit (I'm 90% sure but I'll e-mail a buddy of mine who had his AME then joined, Bit I know he got at least a year). Otherwise, your AME means jack squat. There are many guys who have their AME. Just means they make more...

Working hours........a day worker will do the 37.5 to 40 hr work week but the techs hours will depend where they work and the type of shift. Then toss in sports, admin, leave, etc........but shifts vary. I've done shifts where it was a 35 hr week........a 30 hr week one week then 40 the...

    CH-146 Griffon

I'll step in, being a former fitter/AVN tech and have worked in all 3 enviroments. First, what's better? Depends on what turns your crank. You like to travel? I've worked on tutors, t-birds, cosmos, dash-8's, hercs, seakings and griffons and the one I spent the longest on was the one I never...

This is long but from relates to what MRM posted. Not sure where this came from, it was sent to me when I was in PatBay....and sorry navy folks....but it's funny. Things I've learnt from the Canadian navy. 1. The correct answer to all questions is "I have no excuse P.O." 2. Beards make you look...
