Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

I’ll never complain about any increase in pensionable earnings! Did you see anything on when PPLD kicks in? It would be nice if the eff date is 01 Jul 2023. The PPLD is good news as well. I feel like I might actually have an increase in net take home $. I was up about $50 give or take...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

I’m hearing an additional increase for 2022 and another for 2024 totalling 12.03% compounded, up from 10.04% for the EI announced in March.

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

I just want to make sure I am reading this right. I was receiving PLD, my pay level (11?) made my CFHD $0, with PPLD I will get 75% of my old PLD which will decrease annually to $0? If so, I am pleasantly surprised and believe my wife will be, too.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Filed under “unrelated news”? (Both stories) 😁 If it was me, I wouldn’t hold me breath on anything official pre-Labour day. Just a WAG, I have no inside knowledge.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

It is they Cdn way for some reason that eludes me… I can’t disagree with that. Unless I missed it, we have a ACSO with the USN and a pilot with the RAAF. There will soon be an ACSO close to the RAF fleet as well. No NCM positions yet…AES Op has some FG challenges that trump exchanges (for...

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Discussion is the good part on here. I’m fairly blind above the Wing/fleet level, and am fairly blind to politics etc.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Yup. 100%. I’d even take a WAG that this is all being looked at with options presented to appropriate Commanders on different COAs. Not necessarily related… You don’t remember the Canadian government building an $11 million mess hall at CFB Summerside and then closing the base. There...

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

They really don’t get that the Bombardier plane DOES NOT EXIST and isn’t “similarly capable”. 😂 * the RN operates zero P-8s. The RAF operates 9.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

    Those pesky “HLMRs”…

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

I'd put a $10 bet on "official word before (canadian) Thanksgiving".

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

I would call Block 3 a success. I would not use that word with Block 4. Hood is delusional on the Aurora reality, disconnected with the reality of "post-Block 2" world because he didn't live/breathe it. Like most Generals, he has some fantasy idea of how a piece of kit actually works and...

Helicopter/Cyclone discussion (split from HMCS Fredricton thread)

Expanding some on the layers aspect SKT mentioned, might be a good time re-cage some info: https://army.ca/forums/threads/helicopter-cyclone-discussion-split-from-hmcs-fredricton-thread.132379/page-13#post-1674701 and…...

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Bombardier is starting to remind of me the harmless yet annoying drunk uncle at the wedding…

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

I’d classify that paragraph as “a nice fairytale”…

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

Likewise for Block 4 on our side.

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

No The MH IMS isn’t suitable for LRP. When I say IMS, I mean Integrated Mission System. The sensors, and softwares etc. the whole sha-bang. The CH-148 IMS isn’t exactly the benchmark to aim for. No offense to the MH community. I would also not want the Block 4 Aurora IMS et al installed...

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

That plane is still more real than the Bombardier one!
  18. Eye In The Sky

CMMA - replacing the CP140 Aurora

The claim “cost comparable to P-8” is ridiculous. They are absorbing all the R and D? They still can’t put aircraft on the line as quickly as needed. The Aurora is getting tired.
