    A Deeply Fractured US

Mental Health issues - unfortunately the Venn diagram doesn't often intersect when people understand that with rights comes responsibilities. Explosives... I feel sorry for you. Still pretty awful thing to say given he'd been shot to death already. I would take it as inferred. I mean I...

    Israel in the 21st Century

    1) The F-35 isn't exactly a wallowing pig, the IAF nailed Iran with them without issues. 2) Qatari AD was probably asleep at their posts.

    The War in Ukraine

Some of them went quite deep into Poland from Belarus, like Gdansk and further being tracked from Belarus... None of the tracks seem to show Kaliningrad as a start point. Now I suspect if Kaliningrad is a launch site, a lot of Poles might take matter into their own hands...

    The War in Ukraine

Cdn’s no, others, well I’d not bet against, at least covertly. Some nations do understand that Russian only understand force -

    The War in Ukraine

I believe the more kinetically minded and more equipped countries will take the lead on that. As I suspect the shadow fleet will start seeing a lot more 'accidents' in the future, after all careless smoking on an oil tanker is hazardous ;) GROM are fairly well suited to clandestine ops, and...

    The War in Ukraine

Short term, probably the rest of a Bde to Latvia, with deployment of 6 pack of CF-18's on a permanent rotation, then add CANSOF elements. Long term, your current PM seems to be fairly well grounded, and would understand what the limits on the CAF are currently and would need to push past 3.5%...

USAF Next Gen Massive Penetrator Contract Awarded.

I thought the multi effect option was also interesting. I guess when you have a bunch f B-2's loaded with them, and you get the first target, you want to be able to hit other targets of opportunity, that may not need the same high levels of penetration.

USAF Next Gen Massive Penetrator Contract Awarded.

Lighter, Smaller and better? I thought size mattered in a Massive Penetrator ;) https://www.defensenews.com/air/2025/09/08/us-air-force-awards-contract-to-prototype-next-gen-bunker-buster-bomb/?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dfn-dnr

    Canada's tanks

I get the cost aspect, but I am on the opinion Canada is much better served by less mass and more quality - as the GoC will never fund a 3 Corps CA outside of dire straights wartime. Fair, I see a CA Corps as the holding area for non Div assets, as well as a NSE/NCE Theatre support force that...

The Army wants to get the load soldiers carry down to 55 pounds

Well the goal is to drive new gear and support systems. Most command teams may not know what is coming down the pipe or what has been developed since the last time they were actively out humping and jumping.

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

Or look south. Two different ASW Hawks then Two more different Hawk variants (albeit same airframe just different mission sets) Plus USMC CH-46, CH-53, AH-1Z, UH-1Y and the CV-22 (when it isn’t grounded).

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

I suspect they would be laughing that anyone would get a bigger slower helicopter... Plus the data link issue as no one is running a King for ASW anymore, and you'd be a worse off case for orphaning than the Cyclone is now. At the end of the day SIK will ask what does the contract say, when...

    Canada's tanks

@FJAG I agree you need more forces and I don’t see any value in the theory that the PRes is solely a domestic force. I see the CA as a 3 maneuver Div 1 Corps force in peacetime, in a hybrid unit setting, with plans an equipment to double in size should war break out. For purposes of discussion...

    Canada's tanks

Probably similar. But I you are underestimating the actual weight of the UA Bradley’s, they are running over 40t. Very similar to the weight of the M2A4. The Ukrainian’s added ERA and more modular armor on top of the up armor packages from the old A2’s we sent them, as well as slat armor and...

    The War in Ukraine

I’d put them on ignore. The most mineral rich areas are over there. Yes most of the industry in the area is damaged or destroyed, but when you look at what was there, you see that Ukraine didn’t have much in the Western areas when it comes to heavy industries. Steel production was in the SE...

    Canada's tanks

I’m left with the why of the CV90120 for two reasons. I’m super skeptical of any platform short of a MBT that claims to run a 120mm tank gun, as I’ve seen M1A2 TUSKs firing in Iraq, and the whole 72 tons of that tank is taking the recoil and it still rocks. What does the 120mm turret get...

    The War in Ukraine

I would be VERY curious how that % was derived at. Given the amount of artillery used, and numbers of vehicles - it seems that any number like that is using some very creative accounting, mostly likely out of his ass. I suspect that if there was any actual account involved, it is counting a...
