Some of this depends on a lot of things...  You may or may not get shorter training time.  I've seen people go through CFSATE with AME diplomas, and still have to take the entire course.  I've also seen people only have to take about half of it, so it all depends... on what, I have no idea, but...

Well, having spent two years at CFSATE, I can tell you that we had a guy on course who was from Barrie, had an apartment there, and they didn't give a crap.  He had to pay rations and quarters just like the rest of us, and he also paid for his apartment.  He still had to show up to his barracks...

In Borden, you won't get a Q unless you're common-law, married, or have partial custody of dependants.  Even being a pregnant girl doesn't guarantee you one, believe it or not, we saw that with one female!  But if you're commonlaw, there's a good chance.  There are a ton of people in Borden, so...

Well, I'm at 8ams in Trenton, and we've received a couple of PAT members, who go on rotations through the different shops to get exposure to the avn trade.  I haven't heard about this 'choosing your base' thing if you're on PAT for over 6 months, because not all bases need, or can take care of...

Did anyone else not get the raise backpay yet?  I called the BOR and they said it's going in for the end of Sept, but that it was the only one they'd seen so far with that.  Guess I have to wait another two weeks, booo-urns, hahaha.

And FYI, it's pretty easy not to be a grey man in Trenton.  The AVS techs on the snags crew work with the rest of us on servicing, and though there aren't as many as them, we all know who they are.  The crews are big, but still pretty family-like.

I knew this would happen, haha, 2% pay increase, and rations go up 12.5% to $477 a month.  Booooo!

Hahaha, I know exactly who you're referring to, and surprisingly enough, it wasn't!  I can't handle the big old face covering sunglasses.  Besides, I look goofy in all glasses, so I try and get the least attention-grabbing ones I can, haha, that will still protect my eyes.

And I ordered them through the Forces/Oakley program that they have.  I knew they were fine, but when on a training base, it's better sometimes just to shut up and pocket the glasses until that dude's around the corner.

Awesome, that's a really good thing, I'm sure the cadets will be supremely happy to hear from him as well.  I know he's done a few Annual Inspections for them, but I'm not sure any of the cadets have been around long enough to see one.  I look forward to it, thank you very much.

That would be cool, but you haven't been allowed to make cadet do pushups since way before my time at Sqn.  I'm hoping to be able to get some cool video stuff from an imagetech that's cleared for public viewing, we have some nice airshow footage, stuff like that. 

The only problem with that is that I wasn't an air cadet, I was a CI with the Sqn, hehe.  But I do know a few guys of rank way higher than mine, who were ex-cadets, and are doing very well for themselves, and I'll be sure to mention them as well. I will be sure to let you know how it goes when...

Hey, I loved volunteering, so it should be just as much fun going back as a Reg member.  It is a Sqn far, far away from a base.  I think the closest would be Winnipeg, or Borden, and they're both around the 12-hour drive range.  I'll be bringing back a shoulder flash from the Sqn to put in the...
