    Another NGWS Fail

Holy shit that is a terribly written article. A rifle lets you see further? SA80 isn't great, but it was updated twice in the past 20 years. The SA80, "wasn't even made by others anymore.". What does that mean? Sorry D&B, I'm dumber for reading that article.

Marathon Training as an Infantry Officer?

There will be times you can and times you can't. There is often running in PT, usually as a group. When you are in garrison, normal day hours 7 to 430, maybe 8 if you are an officer looking after a platoon, you still have 10 to 16 hours. Do what you want during this time. Lots of people...

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

I would hope, given experience in Ukraine, that we have between .5 and .75:1 spares to account for casualties. Having 1 spare battery (ops stock) is pretty much none. Have at least a regiment spare.

2022 CPC Leadership Discussion: Et tu Redeux

He may be superficially know, but he is know as the person who headed the BoC during the recovery from the 07/08 financial crisis. So people have a favourable memory of him regardless of how much influence he had on the recovery. He is associated with good financial times.

For aluminum, why don't we just leave be? It would be completely self inflicted pain by the US. If we wanted some form of retaliation why not put an export tax on all sales to the US that don't meet a certain price point that is designed to cause max pain to American importers? It's something...

    Brit Arty joining CAF Infantry

Yep, I've seen Ammo Techs come over from WO2 to MWO and WO2 to MCpl. The SAE quals probably won't be worth much in infantry but the other might, depending on how long ago, and how long ago you got out of the Brits.

CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

Lived experience of myself and friends. Or is that too woke for you to consider? Also critical listening to news outlet reporting of government actions. Where do you get your local Alberta news?

Some one should tell her that because, from the viewpoint of someone in her riding, she has an obligation to the Laurentian Albertan elite and the crack pots who got her elected as the leader of the party. She is decimating the provincial programs that support the most vulnerable and propping...

Completely anecdotal, and do not take this as any reassurance, but my 'good' cholesterol has been low my entire life. Did almost 30 years.

2022 CPC Leadership Discussion: Et tu Redeux

Yep, but if, right now, you're not paying significant (or any) income tax a reduction there will not be helpful. I know that GST rebates don't cover all your GST payments, so any increase there will be a net loss for low income people.

CAF Security Forces [Split from RCN Anti Drone Weapon]

If we moved families and built quarters (small town) for them, that would be a nice boost to defence spending. Also stimulate local economy so we make friends there. Baby steps to 2+%.
