Keep in mind that Recruiting is a posting, not a career path. As mentionned, you'll likely need to do lots of other training and work before you get there, and after you're done as well. If you get a position, it's only for a few years, tops.
Thanks for the info guys. I don't think I'll be trying to make it around on all seasons in my Corolla, but I'll forgo the studs. I also see that Cold Lake gets about 1/3 the snow that this part of Newfoundland gets.
Buying new snow tires in the next couple of days, and getting posted to Cold Lake shortly. Could anyone recommend whether studded tires are needed there, or if regular snow tires would be fine?
Thanks
AGC
In demand would imply that the trade is understrength. There may be enough applications submitted out there to achieve the SIP, however and Recruiting might not want any more before end FY.
That may be a little drastic. Although it's not common, I believe a member can turn down 1 promotion without negative career consequences. Turning down another one triggers the AR process. PM me and I'll find the ref when I'm in to work on Tues.
Should have added that we're not supposed to wear the one with the metal eagle, it should be the embroidered one. Don't have a real reference, but that's what I was told by the staff at kit shop at the Air Force Museum in Trenton.
I was given the cloth badges from clothing stores (and keep them on my spare headdresses), but was encouraged by my unit to purchase the gold thread badge. The best price I found was from Joe Drouin. They look sharp, so at only 10 bucks a pop they're worth it anyway.
Refers to the number of years of subsidized education you require to complete your degree. If you were a Jr, you'd be going to RMC St. Jean for 2 years before 3 in Kingston.
Obviously, I'm with you 100% there, CA.
I don't see it as primarily a cost saving measure like it states in the article, although that's an added bonus.
As others have mentioned, things are moving slowly right now, and there is significant competition for the positions that are available.
I know this won't make you feel better, but use your time constructively. Keep working, keep fit, keep studying and do some volunteer work if you have the...
I would guess that the promotion was rescinded because he never actually occupied won't actually occupy a Sgt position in the establishment.
Edited to add:
A little unfair, since some do get the benefit of moving into a higher ranking position prior to appointment to OCdt or promo to 2Lt...
