If you don't mind living on the other side of the bridge in Quebec, you should definitely check out what's available in Gatineau/Aylmer. There are some great homes around there and I know many people who prefer to live there because it's a lot cheaper.

Exactly. 9 years ago my high school vice-principal was arrested for child pornography/molestation (those were interesting days at school) and released after 3 years. In 2007 he re-offended. It's digusting, especially that he did it all over again. Edited to add: Just found out the sentencing...

I may not be the most informed on the subject but I have definitely read multiple times that the only piercings allowed (and jewelry in general, other than a wedding band and watch) are simple studs in the ears for women (1 piercing in each ear.) At least when you're on duty... not sure about...
