Your options are;
1) apply next year,
2) apply for the Primary Reserve.
Keep in mind that there is no guarantee that you will be enrolled in time for summer BMQ.
Talk to the Reserve unit Recruiter he/she should be able to tell you how many are being enrolled this year.
You file would most likely have been closed so you'll need to fill out all the forms again. On the up side if you did the CFAT and scored high enough for the occupation you want you won't have to rewrite it.
Good luck.
During my 3 years as a Recruiter I visited many high schools, colleges and universities and spread the word. Also at dozens of events like the CNE, job fairs etc. The word is getting out. The biggest thing I saw was most people (in Toronto at least) have no clue what the CF does or the fact that...
I agree. In a military town it's not hard to figure out who's gone and go to "Canada 411" and get phone numbers. Any 1/2 mind out there can do it. When we left in 91 for the Persian Gulf some of our wives and kids woke up to body bags on the front lawn. Not hard to figure out where a serving...
1) Biggest would be the either the education or background for the trade and the CFAT. Then the medical. For teens looking at PRes it's about 50% for CFAT then 30% between medical and PT test. Recreational drug use gets a few as well.
2) Most common delays are lack of openings in the...
Nobody on this site can or should give you a yes or no answer. The only ones that can are the Recruiting Medical Authorities. My suggestion is call the local Recruiting Centre and ask to talk to one of the Medics. Or better yet go down and see them. They will tell you what you need to do.
Good call. At no time should you give up school for the CF. Get your High School. If you do well enough you could look at ROTP or NCMSEP. Even if you don't want either of those programs finish high school at the absolute minimum!!
Good luck.
13 years I was a Military Volunteer with a Cadet Corps and not once can I ever remember ANY of the staff ever having to do a PT test. Maybe it's time to start a new trend.
It says what a cadet is supposed to do but what about the Officers and CI's. Even in the cadet organization "Lead by Example" should be the #1 Rule of leadership!!
READ THE WHOLE POST BEFOER YOU MAKE A COMMENT!!
Actually you can APPLY before your 16th birthday and before you have completed grade 10. However, you can not be enrolled until you meet ALL requirements of service. We had this dilemma with CO-OP applicants. Many of them applied in grade 9 and at...
You already answered your own question. Unless you have some unique skill and are applying for a position that can't be filled by a Canadian citizen then your going to have to wait.
Depending on the occupation you want it could take a while. Give the RC a call and ask them for an up date on your file. While you at it ask for an interview date. One key thing to remember is do not get miffed or upset with whoever you talk to. The person on the other end is rarely the person...
No body can say for sure whether you will retain your rank with a CT. When I did I had 4 years as a Reserve. 2 1/2 full time and several deployments with the RegF. I lost it all and went in as an OD with QL3 and one year towards seniority. Today it all depends on what the Occupation Manager...
You need to book an appointment with the BPSO. Asking for info on here is good and you may get some good advice. However, nothing beats getting it from the horses mouth. Also you may want to look up in either CFAO's or DAOD's on Commissioning from the ranks. It has all the info there in black...
No one has looked at the other side of the coin. As one of the over 6ft and 200lb guys, I know I'd rather carry a 111lb solider than one my size. So lets get more "Soldier Light" on the field make it easier on lot of us!! ;D
Quite right. I was a Recruiter and an MCC in Toronto. It doesn't matter who you talk to about the recruiting process. We all had a very good working knowledge of the various trades and entry plans the CF has to offer. However as a Sailor if someone wanted specifics about a certain trade in...
Took me a year from application to enrolment. I just retired after a very rewarding 32 year career. My last posting was the Recruiting Centre in Toronto. I've told applicants that it could take "UP TO" 6 or 9 months. Sometimes it takes less sometimes it takes more. You have been advised to use...
My wife and I were to be deployed at the same time. We were in the same MOG but different ships. She got to go and I had to stay back to watch the kids. She got the better deal!!
