Cannonfodder...so what if Karzai had contacts with the Taliban in 94......GW Bushs government gave the Taliban millions of $$$s in the spring of 2001 just a few months before 9/11...how about we should be in Afghanistan because after 30 years of invasive war(USSR) and civil-war this poor country...
George,
I just want to be clear.....I'm fully aware of the road conditions in Afghanistan...I lived there in the early 70s ;D......but if you take the Lts comment at face value( which I don't) it can be read as basically saying that the LAV3s are only suitable for North American standard roads...
The following is taken from one of the links in this thread.....what strikes me about this is the inference that the LAV3s are only suitable for North American standard of roads...thoughts?......."Lt. Mark MacIntyre said they will wait for the results of the investigation.
"We are driving on...
Ok...i'm going to put my 3 pennies in .......1)people in general, are only concerned with what affects them directly...its unfortunate but after 50 years of liveing on this planet thats my general conclusion. 2)Until 2001 99% of the people in the west had no idea what Afghanistan was, couldn't...

I started reading the original post but gave up....because it was way too long IMHO.
The Canadian government decided not to go to war because it decided, for its own reasons, that this was the correct decision at the time. Period. What the motives, reasons or rationale of those in power, who...
True...but as we all know, many places don't pay a liveing wage as they SHOULD...and if they did then alot of people wouldn't or couldn't eat there because it would be too pricey
agreed...if they are robots....
......I think in a lot of places they get paid as little as the management can get away with...so they do need those tips to live on.
I doubt they would rough you up....but I wouldn't count on good service the next time you go there.
No...you can refuse to pay the gratuity if the food was...
I usually leave 15%-20% of the bill in a restuarant or bar.....I''ll up it a bit if the service/food is really excellent , lower it a bit if it isn't quite up to scratch......if either the food or service is really bad I won't leave anything but I will inform the wait staff and/or management why...
Guys....I don't consider myself wise enough to be able to form an opinion on this issue except to say 2 things...(1).strictly from a flying passengers point I'd have to say Air Canada,as a crown corporation, was a far better operation than it is now and (2) nowadays I get real nervous about...
Quite frankly a country that isn't willing to at least try to defend itself doesn't deserve to be free and independent. Sadly that looks like the way Canada is heading :-[
E-Town....just to clear something up for you......there are cobras in Afghanistan....actually there are 2 species there ...Indian Cobra(Naja naja) and the Central Asian or Oxus Cobra(Naja Oxianus).....and both species can be found in the areas around Kabul.
