Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

There are uptapped positions in the notional 71,500 PY establishment. They would be funded.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I learned that when there is will, everything is easy. But that’s was also to highlight how difficult recruiting 3,000 people would be.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

It is in our doctrine so from that sense, yes it should. Creating the 2-3000 positions an RCAF Regiment would need is easy. Recruiting those would be impossible in the current climate.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

The Army already does it when we deploy operationally. We have a cadre of Army Reserve folks doing security for our Airfield High Security Zones. It is not a stretch to give that function to the Army. Our aircraft conduct ops (not training) on a daily basis. They are better employed fixing...

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Do things right vs do the right thing. There is a time and a place to do the right thing even if it means not doing things right. That’s the difference between a leader and a manager.

New Army Commander and Army Sergeant Major - 2024

I see importance in CoC ceremonies. It’s important to see the change between the COs to put a face on the new person, and communicate, clearly, your vision to the unit. It should not last more than 1 hour and honestly, could be done in dress of the day vs 1A/3B. Some Wings chiefs have a hard on...

New Army Commander and Army Sergeant Major - 2024

    But it doesn’t say that there won’t be CoC ceremonies. What it says is: Ceremonial tasks will be temporarily reduced or cancelled in order to prioritize reconstitution efforts; Change of command ceremonies, parades, and other ceremonial events shall be minimized in scope and scale;

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

It is also done commercially with relief crew and crew rest compartments. A KC-46A flew for more than 40 hrs straight last week. Can’t do that without sleeping at some point. From an article on the feat: Real-time updates were crucial in achieving those goals, as the aircraft was often...

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

So, for MPs that aren’t re-elected, the biggest change an extra week would do is getting a transfer value vs return of contribution?

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

The PMO caved to industry pressures to accept aircraft that didn’t meet spec (many of them were regulatory specs). I have seen the train get off the rails (from 2018 until 2022) from a front row seat. It was not pretty and it was pretty sad….

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

You complain you don’t have opportunities to maintain proficiency in your SL but you would refuse opportunities to do so? Interesting. My wife spoke very little English when we moved to Cold Lake. Guess what? She adapted and it made her a better person. Life challenges are sometimes good.
