It is also a Canadian requirement for ETS: Standard on Security Screening- Canada.ca

    Security clearance

Secret is valid for 10 years. The only big difference with TS is a character references check. Enhanced TS is where things are a lot more in depth (polygraph, open-source inquiry, etc).

They still share 60% parts commonality. Much better than 0.

Canada doesn’t matter to the rest of the world - and it’s our own fault

I have a couple of what some would consider weird quirks but I think they are important. 1- When I give CDs, I always mention how I consider that decoration as, if more more important than deployment medals, because it shows a long commitment to the defence of our nation. Also, many trades...

You Want To Be A Pilot : 2018 - present

I still use, to this day, the Speed, Time and Distance calculation in the aircraft. There is no time (or space in many cockpits) to whip paper out and calculate. You need to be able to do this quickly and accurately.

RPAS (was JUSTAS): the project to buy armed Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs

I am pretty sure we’ll use the current Hornet Sqns to onboard the F-35. For RPAS Sqn, why not 428 Sqn?

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Part time amateurs?! These folks are the most experienced fighter pilots in Canada. They already fly with us part time.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

We already hire ex-Reg F in the reserves but it is extremely difficult to keep them current when they reside outside Bagotville or Cold Lake. Unless they come back for several weeks at the time to contribute to the program (conducting upgrade rides, hold QRA), the cost of making those folks...

    Canada's tanks

Just curious. How and how quickly do we plan on deploying tanks for a hypothetical Russia scenario? What about an Indo-Pacific scenario? Do we have the logistical capacity to deploy enough tanks in a timely manner in the proper AO? If not, why do we have tanks?

Former CO, RSM of Alert charged

Because someone thinks it is against the law doesn’t always mean it is against the law. As soon as there is an element of doubt, I would argue it is not manifestly unlawful anymore. Ordering someone to kill another member: manifestly unlawful. Ordering someone to kill a wounded animal: I can...

Comd RCAF says that “RCAF is not ready for conflict"

Why you see more contractors in 1st line is to allow junior techs to learn from experienced techs. Not some plans for them to take over all maintenance.
