What Changes Should be Made to the DART

So, Armymedic, what would you suggest is the appropriate course of action?  I honestly don't know, and I think we can all agree that someone dropped the ball for sure, and we all also agree that something really has to happen here if A) we are to continue having DART and B) being able to...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

I'm in the comm reserve, and although it's not a combat arms trade....since the linemen are, we often get placed in PT with them (at least that's been the case with my 3's course on a regular basis).  We started off with small distances, doing about 5km everyday for week 1, then that friday...

What Changes Should be Made to the DART

(just a quick question, what's a JSS?)   I don't know if that plan would be feasible given our current monetary situation, although it's an excellent idea...but the fact that the CF would bear the costs of these three JSS, and aircraft, and the soldiers to man all of the above in order to...

    Sig Op to Lineman????

So, no one here has ever thought about being a linemen?  Boo! lol    I have officially changed my mind, and will stick with being a sig op, and one day being a civy police officer (while remaining in the reserves), however, should none of that work out...of to reg MP or reg Signals for me!

What Changes Should be Made to the DART

I liked the idea given in the last DART thread about the new airlift possibilities.  The idea that a new fleet of aircraft, although expensive no matter whether you upgrade or design new ones, to be used in a multifunctional way within Canada with not only military but civilian companies to...

Is there a limit to the kind and amount to "kit" a member can have?

yeah ummm....shooting team what?  we don't have one of those.

Is there a limit to the kind and amount to "kit" a member can have?

Twice a year eh?  Lucky you....my unit goes once a year....and we only do PWT 1, one year we did PWT 1 AND 2, lucky us eh? pfft.  Don't get me wrong, I love the reserves....but I love firing weapons, and wish we could go more often.

    Your Beer Brand of Choice

Hmmm, I'll have to pick up one of those 'sampler' packs sometime soon.

    Chicken v. Egg

I would consider that far more than a slight digression, in fact that officially (moreso than previous statements of those with undesired genes creating offspring) runs the thread, and any possibility it had of being saved, into the ground.  At least the idea of undesired genes being passed on...

    Your Beer Brand of Choice

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier, I'm a HUGE fan of Granville Island brew, their Pale Ale tastes so good, and is far smoother than Keith's IMO.  Although they have had some flops in the past.  I remember getting my dad a big bottle of this Christmas brew they made....so horrible!  It was some...

    Your Beer Brand of Choice

Hmmm, I would have to say Keith's or Sleemans Honey Brown or Cream Ale for any kind of backyard BBQ, those you can sit down and really enjoy IMO.  For anyone in the Vancouver area, you should try Granville Island Brewery, no particular kind, they're all quite good.    Oh, and occasionally, a...

    Chicken v. Egg

Hey, just because linemen are a bunch of unintelligent, knuckle dragging, professionally trained apes who couldn't use anything involving technology without making it explode, doesn't mean they're bad people... ;)

Religion in the Canadian Forces & in Canadian Society

I am curious as to why it is of distaste to you to remove your headdress during Rememberance Day (not to beat a dead horse or anything).  You are not removing your headdress in any way for prayer, it's for rememberance, a moment of silence for those to just think, not pray, to think.  It is...

    Chicken v. Egg

I think our sense of humour comes from long nights on shift by ourselves.....lots of time to work on our material.....that or it is simply our inability to control our sanity, which is so fleeting!

    Chicken v. Egg

Obviously it wasn't instantaneous....hence the use of "chicken-ish" rather than "bird"  I could have said bird, referring to any kind of bird...but obviously there was something that the "chicken-ish" thing didn't have that the chicken does.  Why argue about terms....I figured I was being rather...

    Chicken v. Egg

I don't say this to offend anyone religious....but I honestly think evolution is a VERY feasible theory.  I'm not religious at all, but does religion actually claim in a way that evolution didn't happen? (sorry to kinda change the thread, but I'm curious)

    Chicken v. Egg

Yep, had to be the egg.  Chicken-ish thing lays an egg, but the chicken-ish thing isn't completely suited to the environment, and chicken is born with new features to help it survive....basic biology 11!

    Thinking About A Ford???

It's true, some cars are just different, but automatics compared to manual is a whole different story.  When you're buying a standard car, you really need to do research on the engine and the car itself, I would never get a grand prix at all, let alone with a stick.  My mom has an automatic...
