Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

After much searching I found this source: https://www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/services/innovation/human-resources-statistics/population-federal-public-service-executive-level.html So, there are 1635 EX03 and 375 EX04, for a total of 2010 (which is wild in and of itself). The...

Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

So, there are currently 64 Assistant or Associate Deputy Ministers without a job. They stay home and get paid rather than be retired or reassigned. They are all Ex-03 or 04 with an average salary range of 220K and 250K. Maybe start cutting there......

    Trump administration 2024-2028

You asked if "more people in the world better off with Trump in charge?". This was not at all modified with the idea of whether or not US has a responsibility to do so, although your question implied that it does. So what is the issue here?

I have come to believe that the PS ia the single largest sea anchor for our economy...and our country. Bring it on...if they dare

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Just in the global economy, the answer is a definitive no. Additionally, Ukrainians are not better off as Trump turns a blind eye to Putin, Gazans are not better off by trump ignoring / condoning Netanyahu's actions over the last 15 days. "people in the world" are of little to no interest to...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Fair point. I read what I expected to read, not what was there. Mea culpa and apologies. I do not believe that I have prejudices. It is more that I have formed opinion about you based on your posting history, as I have with every other posting on this site, and iI suspect that is the case...

It would also help if "populist" leaders didn't act like absolute autocrats whose ever musing and rage storm are considered to be legitimate populist policies. If we take the label fascist out of the discussion, is everything still okay with this brand of populism?

Who is this we? Do you speak for all Canadians (obviously not Albertans, Conservatives, or young voters as seen below)? Or were you using the Royal We? Poll: Two-thirds of Canadians favour developing clean energy over fossil fuels, while 85% wish to maintain or increase federal climate action...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

I can't find any support for that contention: https://www.fraserinstitute.org/sites/default/files/prime-ministers-and-government-spending-2023.pdf Nonetheless, the increase in per-person spending is egregious, and is the inescapable outcome of a self-involved and unaware people when led by a...

So they are going with decision-based evidence making? Sounds quite....LPC...or Gulf War II

Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

I suspect that there is a quid pro quo: Russia abandons Iran, and the US abandons Ukraine. If is literally that transactional, and the US is now just as perfidious an ally as Russia always has been. Sad.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Really? You actually wrote that? Even if it was meant to be funny, it is not. It is denigrating and verging on racist. And I am calling it out because to not do so would make me complicit.

The most common contracting vehicle with DND is a THS (or variations thereof), which is for a max of 48 week (can be extended by 26 weeks, for a max of 400K, incl HST. That works out to gross $260/hr.....
