I had no idea that MP's were hamstrung like this. Hopefully something changes in the future to kind of streamline the job of the MP.. Informative discussion.  :)

Hey Garb, if I have previous service would I still get bumped to corporal when I accepted an offer for MP since I have completed basic (and bmq-l) already? I know MP's that go through basic get promoted on grad day, not sure how it works with those just reporting to base.

They were really quick to contact my references, they've already finished my reference check but I have my medical tomorrow and my interview got bumped to monday due to a scheduling error. One less thing to worry about I guess.

Buck, Does having prior service affect your scoring at all when they consider applicants - negatively or positively? For example would it work in my favor if Ive already done BMQ-L and BMQ, doing a bypass and eliminating any possibility of a BMQ washout?

They don't contact them, they actually call you if you don't put anything there to confirm if you want them to contact them or not. As this would get some people in hot water if their current employers knew they were attempting to leave their current company, they don't call if you don't want...
