Looks fine. Just take a BHP put it in the holster cocked and cut a notch with a gerber/hacksaw/shears till it fits. It's not terribly complicated. Also ditch the top strap and shorten the drop leg portion and it will ride much better.
Just an update on Quickclot from the Iraq theatre. The US army is now stocking the Quickclot ACS in addition to the older Quickclot they've always had. I just picked up a case of the ACS from the CSH and will be replacing all our original quickclots in IFAKs and med bags.
The Hemcon is still...
When you come over to Iraq you're going to be glad someone was spending money on armor research for you. The equipment now may not be perfect but it's a far cry from the welded on mild steel plate armor of a few years ago.
BW doesn't have any MRAPs in Iraq. They do have thier own vehicles made in thier own factory however (Grizzly?). They also have the usual surplus Saxon, Mambas, etc that many companies have.
The article doesn't mention that the MRAPs also tear down the powerlines of the streets they drive...
Right now clockwise from buckle I'm running 6004, 4x40mm HEDP, med pouch, double 1911 mag pouch on the TT belt. Not too many problems with sag, I wear the belt tight and tuck the loose ends under.
In 05 I went shooting with some Iraqi police generals BGs that had these weapons. They had been trained by the Poles and the Poles were based in the same city. I didn't ask who supplied them with the weapons but it's certainly possible that they did get them from the Polish military. Either...
Like for example in Iraq? Where Canadian gov't officials were guarded by CRG.
HAHAHHA! Private security companies have years of experience guarding VIPs in non-permissive environments. They don't need the training of the RCMP to do this...
Private security companies do have access to up to...
Theres no story here because there's no significant Canadian PMC presence in any conflict zone. There are no Canadian companies providing large security contracts in Afghan or Iraq. Gardaworld does have a small amount of work, but only because they bought their Iraq division from Kroll. As far...
+1 on always wearing ballistic eyewear. Like everything the CF does, they need to reinvent the wheel so instead of buying proven designs like Oakley or Wiley (hate them) they get some el cheapo glasses with distortion.
I wear m-frames or t800s. Before a mission I wipe down the lenses with Op...
The changes are good, nobody within the industry will fight them. As for DSS agents in convoys other than WPPS contracts, it wouldn't make any sense. DSS agents are to protect DoS clients, nobody else. They are already in short supply, hence BW/TC/Dyn running the high threat regions on...
Some friends on another team had a course run for them on a similar system in use by a British SF unit here in Baghdad. I believe it was a 1 day course to get qualified on the use of it. This was about 2 years ago.
The Iraqi army is also replacing it's AK variants (some very recently purchased) with US supplied M16A2s and M4s. The entire army will be equipped with the M16 FOW. The ones I've seen had fixed stocks and looked awkward in the hands of guys wearing body armour. The Iraqi SF has been supplied...
