Okay, well I geuss I'll reply to my own thread ;D
I read somewhere awhile back during the election that O'Connor wanted to initiate a probe into the decision to replace tanks with the MGS. Possibly this is in the DCP? Maybe this is why the leadership abruptly requested the cancellation of MGS...?
During the question period with General Hillier and Minister O'Connor today in Halifax, a question was asked regarding the possibility of another White Paper. This was denied by Hillier but he said that DND was working on a Defence Capability Plan to lay out the requirements of the Army, Air...
Media advisory on DND site states that MND and CDS are going to make an announcement in Halifax at 1300 ADT.

In my mind, it looks like this decision was motivated by two key factors: we are having a surge in funding as well as the fact that the airforce may soon very well have a way of moving our tanks around.
Another probable motivator is that senior armour officers can point to Iraq to show the...
42 sit-ups isin't really an outrageous amount.
Most unfit people can drop and do at least 20 or so in that time frame, so someone training to go to AI should be able to do it no problem.

I've decided to go Infantry Officer as opposed to airforce (applying next fall)...
Is there a possibility that this 'SF Coy' within the CSOR could perhaps be a JTF-2 squadron/coy/unit that rotates through the regiment on a managed readiness basis?
It would make sense in terms of logistics, training, organization, and manpower shortages.
Just a thought...
Thanks for the feedback
This artillery regiment organization may seem a little different than what we currently have, but the blueprint of transformation is defined by change from the past. In this example, I did not increase Engineer manning from current strength in hopes to decrease the...
Hi everyone, thought I would put my two cents in on my opinion for Land Forces Restructure...
The way I see it, we have 4 main pillars to adapt to in respect to LFR:
1. Increase size of army;
2. Further development and smoothlining of medium-weight wheeled force;
3. Enforcing new...
Hey. I'm an Air Cadet (777 Neptune) and I was wondering if it was possible to take an army cadet course? I did AIC this summer (best course ever) and I was thinking about trying out for para. I heard someone I was going to camp with, his brother (who is a sea cadet), was taking para...?
Any...
