    Commissioning - Masters without Bachelors

So as a matter of fact, when you look into the minimum requirements for the Chaplain occupation, a BA is required as well as the MDiv. The 3-4 other occupations that require you to have a Masters Degree ie PSO or Physio do NOT require you to have a BA only the applicable Master's Degree. It's...

Air battle managers support Exercise Antler South

Pretty much, "Air Weapons Controller" was replaced with "Air Battle Manager" fairly recently. Expect to see ABM used in the future. I have seen more regular articles about them too, go figure AEC needs to recruit more people.

The best way to get into Space Ops, is to get in.  I have seen both Air Weapons and ATC get into Space Ops.  It's more about YOU and how much effort you put into Professional Development towards Space Ops.

Air Reserve BMQ tested at Aldershot, Nova Scotia

I hear everyone on that course did an outstanding job and should be proud of what they have accomplished.

Aerospace Control Operator ( AC Op )

There are AC Ops Cpl-Sgt working at 1 CAD, but these are all secondary postings.  North Bay and ATC are still the Primary postings.

    1.  BMOQ + Bachelor's Degree + 2nd LT,  2LT + Occupational Function Point = LT,  LT + 2 Years = Capt.  Promotion beyond Capt really varies because that's when they start looking at your annual reviews, education, language profile, and other things at a promotion board.  Promotion to Maj usually...

Aerospace Control Operator ( AC Op )

To the best of my knowledge, they have added some more Performance Objectives to the course.  The Pre-Course exam will either remain the same or also have a few more sections.

Common Course in Cornwall is about a month, Pre Course while you wait at which ever base you are sent for OJT will probably last 3 months.  IFR/Weapons are 5 months and VFR course is 4 months.  I think the only other thing you can study are military and civilian aircraft identification and...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

There is still pre-course work in 2017.  There is a Common AEC Course to do and then when you are selected for your Control Environment (Weapons/IFR/VFR) you will have more pre-course work to do before that specific controller course.  "From the Ground Up" is a good start but unless you know...

Direct Entry Officer (DEO) questions [Merged]

Passing an AEC course is not for the faint of heart.  You will spend many nights studying for exams or practicing in the simulator.  You need to focus maximum effort at all times while on course.  You must study and practice with your course mates.  You will either pass together or fail alone. ...

    New IRP / Move policy-effective Dec 01, 2017 [Merged]

Good day, The Moving Policy as far as i have ever known is what they call a "door to door" move.  So they will send the moving truck to ONE location to pick up your furniture and effects (F&E) and move them to a new location (your first posting).  So if your property is split between two...

Single Quarters & Rations (R&Q) [MERGED]

It seems like in recent years wait times have been getting longer.  I knew guys that did 3 weeks of ojt and some are doing 3 months or more of OJT.  That time is spend either studying for the QL3 pre-course exam or doing whatever task comes up much like any other person on BTL.  I joined as a...

Aerospace Control Operator ( AC Op )

Greetings, After completing BMQ, he will go to an Air Wing for a period of On the Job Training/Employment before going to Cornwall ON for his QL3 Course.  As long as your son asks for a posting to an air base ie Comox, Cold Lake, Moose Jaw, Trenton, or Greenwood to start, it's almost a...

Wanting to OT from INF to Air Force

All the AVNs i've met really enjoy the trade and look forward to the deployments.  Honestly, the best way to be deployed less is to get posted to a SAR sqn.  So either the Buffalos, the SAR Herc Sqns or the Combat Support Sqns that fly Griffons.  Given that you want to be posted to VI, 442 Sqn...

Single Quarters & Rations (R&Q) [MERGED]

It is very common for you to get one of your top 3 after QL3.  They don't guarantee  you anything as per, but the CM is pretty good with first postings.  Some wings like North Bay and Cold Lake you could spend a lot of time there if you wanted, but i wouldn't expect to spend a decade at any...
