There is a good chance that you will be issued knee pads at the Inf Sch, if not CP Gear is down the road so you could buy them there.  If you don't want to wait, I'd say go ahead and buy them. As far as goggles go, you may attract too much attention and on CAP you want to be the grey man.

Goggles will take significantly more damage before failing vs. glasses.
