    Carney Government, March 14 2025 - ?

Trudeau blamed Harper for stuff for several years following his governance. Why can't we continue to blame Trudeau for a while longer?

    Liberal Minority Government 2021 - 2025

My friends, family and co-workers are, for the most part CPC supporters. That being said, most dislike Poliviere because of his history of "gotcha" attack dog antics in the HoC, but they still want to get rid of the Liberals. He's cleaned up his act in that regard lately, but still slips back...

    US postings

For Customs Tariff purposes, you're a "non-resident" even with your Canadian passport. That determines the line of questioning based on your entitlements of what you can bring in duty free (gifts, for example). Foreign nationals can generally only be authorized as visitors for six months.

NDP in the GTA. Bloq in Montréal. The other "gun ban" parties.

    LPC leadership race - 2025

They'd lose support in the GTA and Montreal real quick. Rebranding the carbon tax is not ending it.

    RCMP White paper

No mention of the border in any form in the CBC article. You'd think, right now, they'd be all over that like a fat kid on a Snickers bar.

    The CAF Post Trump

By the time the CAF is able to adjust to the next two minority governments and figure out what POTUS47 wanted, he will be a distant memory.

    Canada/US Border Integrity Thread

Like every organization, there are always a few die-hards who long for "how it used to be". And there were some who resisted the arming initiative. There are still a few unarmed BSOs out there who have been accommodated for a variety of reasons, but their number are quite low. Don't confuse...

    Canada/US Border Integrity Thread

That's not entirely accurate. The union has been pushing for arming officers since before CBSA came into being (2003) and the government resisted claiming it was not needed while at the same time posting RCMP members at some land POEs and most major airports to provide an armed presence...

And the battle of the unions over who get the biggest piece of the border integrity budget is well underway: https://npf-fpn.com/news-item/national-police-federation-opposes-expanded-role-of-cbsa-officers-in-canada/...

CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

No need. Public Safety Canada is announcing more domestic gun control measures tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Remember, too, that Trump is vocally pro 2A and would probably tell our government our illegal gun problem could be solved with more legal guns from America and a "proper set of gun rights".

Maybe stop referring to the PM as Governor Trudeau of Canada.

    LPC leadership race - 2025

I saw a couple of Polievere targeted attack ads during the Global National newscast tonight. They were sponsored by an organization named "Protect Canada". I didn't see any obvious signs of LPC influence.

U.S. Annexing Canada (split fm Liberal Minority thread)

The only unelected HoS whose opinion Trump is likely to entertain isn't King Charles. He's on a roll as the international TV tough guy.

Of course he resigned. You're just "experiencing it differently".

    Liberal Minority Government 2021 - 2025

The electorate may see it as a way to minimize the damage caused by Trump. I can see Trump endorsing him as they are both businessman.
