Part of the decision to keep ACSOs was to FG enough executive officers (Majs and CO) in the SAR Sqn because the pilot trade would have a difficult time filling all those positions. That's what was briefed to us back in Dec. anyway the decision was made, nothing we can do about it. I simply wish...
If you do a simple google search "how to convert military career on resume" you'll find good sites that takes your military terms and transfer them into civilian terms, free of charge. That's what I did for my resume a few years ago.
IMO the tax free issue would greatly benefit our members plus it would be a win for the government wrt support the troops. In the end all I'm saying is if the government is willing and it bring great benefit to our troops, let's do it! we so used to get screwed over that when something good...
You bring an interesting point. I didn't know folks were posted to Afghanistan. My approach was based on wether your family is with you or not. For example being deployed away from family = tax free. Posted OUTCAN with family = not tax free. Again if the government want to tax free all OUTCAN...

I say if it's an OUTCAN CFTPO deployment it should be tax free, regardless of location. If it's an OUTCAN posting, then yes it can be taxed. A simple change like this would boost morale massively and wouldn't cost much the government.
IMO the government should simply allow tax break on all outcan ops. For the amount of soldiers deployed, the overall tax the government receive is penny change and would save big time on man hours. It would also be a political gain by supporting the troops.

New CFCWO video came out today talking about SH where he takes this issue very seriously. As mentioned in the video, this will become his personal mission to eradicate this harmful behavior and hopefully pave the way ahead for futur generations. ...
Yes according to the survey: more than half of people who reported they were the victim of a sexual assault said the perpetrator was an NCM ranked MCpl/MS or lower, and one in three said the perpetrator was an NCM of Sgt/PO2 rank or higher.
If you read the thread there's a lot of info on AES Op. No the AES Ops were not door gunners in Afghanistan and no we don't get posted to army unit. The only time you'll see AES Op working with SAR Tech is when the Cornorant fleet is U/S and the Sea King is manning SAR standby.
Recently I've been eating in mess hall, and frankly I must say I've been impressed by the quality and the taste of the food. The mess introduced the "blue menu" which consist of healthy choices. No more burgers, no more pizzas (except veggie one), no more fries etc. They also introduced quinoa...
