Mendicino's call for RCMP to ban neck restraint not backed up by evidence: external panel
Huh, who'd have thought emotion driven policy driven by the events of the moment aren't a good idea after all?
Isn't this the party that claimed they would be driven by science, evidence and transparency?
I think back to my application to join the RCMP where there was a check box for are you or do you identify as a woman, person of colour, visiblie minority, LGBTQ etc. on the initial application.
I wonder, if digging got done on Government of Canada hiring in the last decade, what might be found...
I think the Province may have tipped their hand on this one, they took six months to sort themselves out and produce a report that recommended SPS move forward and when council voted to the opposite of their "recommendation" they throw a tantrum and demand a report within a single business day...
I'm not sure, and quite frankly I don't think anybody knows.
I'm absolutely confident the city and its lawyers are looking to dispose of SPS in the most cost and litigation free way they can manage.
Personally this has worked out great for me as I've just gotten an opportunity off of General...
I can't speak to the MP's, but in the RCMP animals can be dispatched if they're wounded or present a threat to human life. Call the Conservation Officers to deal with the remains. No UoF paperwork required.
I'd settle for a helmet that isn't nearly as old as I am and being issued armour of any kind for the first time in my 11 year career.
Not holding my breath.
Also I just want to point out that even in the Policing/RCMP part of the forum, the first law of Army.ca that all threads must devolve into a discussion of dress and deportment has been adhered to. Well done, gents.
Officer safety issue, the issued tie is a clip on so if it gets grabbed it pops off. But I'm confident when that decision was made there was a good amount of complaining to be heard from the various Sergeants Major.
My understanding is the head shed (in the case of uniform and dress matters that's the warrant group) is desperate to retain the grey shirts. There was a public opinion study commissioned that told them the public didn't really care what colour the shirt was as long as the member looked...
Of course the Mayor has come out and says she's sticking with the RCMP.
I'm not sure anything more than the egos of the decision makers were taken into account.
The dumpster fire burns on.
Fair enough. I've spent most of my career being told we do things poorly compared to literally everybody, and now I have the distinct pleasure of working in a Detachment that's halfway transitioned to a muni force that claims they're going to do everything better. And we're still waiting for the...
There's a lot of suggestions on ways to change the RCMP in that article, but literally nothing about how those changes are supposed to solve problems within the Force. I don't think, from my brief review of the article, it even mentions a significant issue facing the force in the article. I...
Deal. If NS does a full report on dumping the RCMP and keeps them anyways, I'll owe you one (1) beer, redeemable in the establishment of your choice should we ever cross paths.
