Honest Question here,
Is it possible for Canada to keep the F-35's "past its shelf life" or will it be like my Windows computer and when the updates stop coming the machines usability drops off a cliff forcing a replacement sooner than wanted?
Like you we did our part, My wife and I have 8 children. However our collective 4 siblings have 0. So 4 grandparents had 6 children who had 8 grandchildren. If you include my wife's birth family its flat at 8,8,8 Her two biological siblings have no children either.
We know many large families...
I understand you are sore about the costs of Asterix. Those were all GOC's fault. Davie did not sail the AOR's with insufficient maintenance. Davie did not wait way too long to issue replacement contracts. Davie did not then delay those contracts repeatedly.
If I don't change the oil in my car...
Possible, Or they may find they are in high demand, make tons of money and get more oiler ships in their fleet. It's not like the US is adverse to paying top dollar for defense items.
I'm sure when Omega started up many thought they would fail. Their website says they have flown 10,500...
If I was Federal Fleet and I owned a replenishment ship like Asterix I would lease her to the US navy the same way Omega does with the air refuelers.
If they don't want her she is NATO spec. I'm sure some NATO nation will want her services.
The Iron dome has been doing this for years, I have no idea how they do it but there system even has time to determine appx where the rocket will land and determine if sending an intercept is prudent. I imagine the iron dome has even less time to make its calculations as it intercepts mainly...
Much like the TV show Undercover Boss, many times on that show CEO's saw how the company really works and used that intel to make positive changes. Many pledged to be more in touch with the workers going forward. I realize its TV and dramatized but there were real insights gained.
Hydraulic tanks need to be vented, I don't know how they accomplish that on aircraft but Its possible the vent failed and let water in from outside. Whether from flying in wet weather or another source.
I know I'm just a simple civilian but wouldn't some sort of sealift capacity be a fairly high priority to the CAF as a whole?
I realize that the Navy thinks about what the navy wants, and the Navy likely doesn't think sealift is a priority.
To be clear I mean something like a merchant marine...
Thank you for making me/us aware of their services. I agree with the membership and I bought it.
When i read your post and went to the site i was confused at first thinking I was getting a legal defense insurance. After reading more clearly I realized what the legal services bundle is and I...
Just for clarity the legal services bundle requires you be a member for $40/year + $25/year for the legal bundle.
The legal services you get for your $25/month is a phone call with a lawyer to answer a question. It is not Legal defense insurance.
I love that logic and it ill work well for them. The IFV and other variants will also have room to grow.
However I imagine The bean counters view will say those other variants will be a waste of money because they are overbuilt.
I.E. If you are buying 1000 units of witch 100 are the heavier...
I remember seeing a documentary once about building in the arctic, they needed special steel for the buildings to take the cold. The narrator claimed the steel used down here would be too brittle at -50 and the buildings would collapse.
Interesting, most hydraulic systems run anytime the engine is running and create heat. Idling must not create enough heat in the units you are working with. There are heat exchangers designed for just such a purpose however space is likely an issue. The coolant lines through the reservoir is a...
Then you just don't shut it off. Ever. if you do then tow it into a shop. That's why a lot of Caterpillar engines are designed to check the oil while the engine is running.
