The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

15,000 sq meters does not include all the hangarettes that will house the F-35s and where minor maintenance will be conducted. That’s just offices, sims and some specialized maintenance bays. When you include hangarettes, it goes up to 60,000 sq meters or so.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Nah. The Bagotville QRA is its own project that was started before FFCP was approved. The Cold Lake QRA is part of FFCP or DCFI (can’t remember which). The way Fighter infrastructure is organized at the project level is pretty confusing. The Fighter Squadron Facility (which will house the...

US Presidential Election 2024 - Trump vs Harris - Vote Hard with a Vengence

Science and research disagrees with you. But don’t let that get in the way of a good old political bias. "The difference between foreign-born and US-born mortality has grown substantially since 1990, with the ratio of US-born to foreign-born mortality rates nearly doubling by 2017. In that...

Brazil air crash 09 August 2024

T-Tails are notorious for stalling when they get iced up. When they stall, the aircraft is almost always irrecoverable. In general, stalling a T-Tail aircraft results in a proverbial “deep stall,” where the stabilator is blocked from receiving airflow from the fuselage and the only way to...

I already buy my cap badges, my unit patches, unit stuff (visor covers, t-shirts, etc). That’s okay. US Military pays for their uniform beyond initial issue. 99.99% of the Canadian population pay for their OTC meds. They also largely have a co-pay for prescription medication. This is a...

For the Ibuprofen, that can still be prescribed and kept long term (with refills). For blister packs, you CoC can request a bunch for exercises without individuals going through the base clinic.

Or they could just buy them for $20? If you need more than one bottle a year, you likely have issues that require medical attention or at least documenting. For allergy meds, that should definitely be followed up by a doctor…

If you truly need the meds regularly, go see a doctor, they’ll prescribe it and it’ll be free. Added bonus is that it tracks heavy usage that could point to chronic health issues that may require follow up.

I learned that when there is will, everything is easy. But that’s was also to highlight how difficult recruiting 3,000 people would be.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

It is in our doctrine so from that sense, yes it should. Creating the 2-3000 positions an RCAF Regiment would need is easy. Recruiting those would be impossible in the current climate.

Government hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

The Army already does it when we deploy operationally. We have a cadre of Army Reserve folks doing security for our Airfield High Security Zones. It is not a stretch to give that function to the Army. Our aircraft conduct ops (not training) on a daily basis. They are better employed fixing...
