    Happy International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day to all the ladies out there. My Mom, for chasing after me with a belt in hand to correct my behaviour! My Grandma(rest her soul), for having a bigger set of balls then any guy I know. She knew how to tune you in and make sure you knew what you were doing was...

The Going To Esquimalt Thread- PAT, PMQ, Etc.- Merged

I am "assuming" that by asking for Naden, you are referring to the ones behind the hospital. Most of them up there are duplexes and single family dwellings. They are pretty big, and definitely have larger bathrooms then those in Work Point or Belmont Park. The same can be said for Signal Hill...

UMB, phenomenal work!! Your seascape reminded me of a trip I made up island last year. The water was so smooth, almost like glass! I don't paint...but i can draw a real mean stick-man!

The Going To Esquimalt Thread- PAT, PMQ, Etc.- Merged

As Melbatoast stated, Work Point is a mix between single family, row housing and duplexes. I live in a 4 bedroom duplex and it seems to work good for us. With that said, I am also a single mother of three kids, so at times, the size seems daunting when it comes to cleaning...(which is most of...

The Going To Esquimalt Thread- PAT, PMQ, Etc.- Merged

I currently reside in Work point PMQ's with my three kids and have throughly enjoyed it here so far. It is close to work(5 minute commute MAX), close to school for my kids, and only a short walk along the West Bay Walkway to downtown. It also has all the amenities within a 10 minute drive. I...

US soldier launches puppy off a cliff

That is very typical behaviour for a puppy being held like that. How does it's mother carry it around? Usually by the scruff of the neck, so to prevent itself from falling, it will curl itself up(as the pup in the video did) and not squirm. This video sickens me, Karma can be a real pain in...

    Quitting Smoking

Old Ranger, have you had any cravings at all after the treatment? My mother, step father and one of my bosses have quit using laser therapy and none of them have experienced any cravings what so ever. Did you use the detox methods too? I am looking into this method now since the Zyban isn't...

What not to do - No excuse BMQ tips [Merged]

If you feel like folding your undies 4x6 everyday, scrubbing the soap suds and gunk out of your soap dish, etc, then by all means do it. When you are given 15 minutes between breakfast and inspection, you will see how very valuable a second set of everything is. You can then focus your energy on...

    Cadet FA/ Medical stuff..........

I know with my son(13 yr old), when they were out in the field a couple months ago, all the cadets had a great time running field FA scenarios. A possible idea would be to take those very basic scenarios (found a guy on the ground with a bone sticking out of his arm), tweaking them a bit, and...

CF member as a single parent-on course, deployed ect... [MERGED]

So, let me just get this straight in my head. I am entitled to FCA if: (a) I am MOS qual'd or (b) have had my HG&E(household goods and effects) moved at public expense I had my HG&E moved out last July at public expense, before I was MOS qual'd. Would this then entitle me to FCA now? Not...

    Cadet FA/ Medical stuff..........

This is a fantastic idea!! Great job!! I think the age range(16+) is perfect, but would it be possible to slim down a bit of the program for those younger cadets who would be interested in some of it, almost like a taste test, if you will. Maybe even have it so it builds up into this larger...

Well, it has been quite a wild ride the last 8-9 mths...lol My oldest son moved out here in April and was residing with my mother while I was still in the shacks in Victoria. In late June, he was hit by a car, so I was recoursed off my course so that I could take a week of compassionate time...
