Manuge v Her Majesty the Queen (c Oct 30, 2019)

So, obviously this will apply to us guys who had several Lump Sum amounts from Favourable conditions as well? All mine were from 2017 to present.

Bureau of Pension Advocates - Wait Times

Yea, the only thing fast these days about BPA and VRAB is the time it takes for VRAB to reach a Decision upon completion of a Hearing. Everything else is one long double than normal wait. Pathetic.

Bureau of Pension Advocates - Wait Times

Nope, not an 8 month delay, just 3 month, but I can shed some new info light on BPA and VRAB as I just completed not 1, but 2 In-Person VRAB Appeal Hearings. I can confirm that there is now only a 6-8 week wait for VRAB with their Decision Letter to you. That is remarkable considering in the...

Just an FYI, you can tell how much your Lump Sum will be just by that PSC Monthly amount in your Current Benefits. I'm assuming you already know, but just giving you a heads up. Congrats on an amazing fast OSI Claim and congrats on a Favourable Decision and the lump sum should be a hefty amount.

You will receive in electronically in your My VAC Account Inbox in a week or so, once it changes to Complete. That being said, there is a way to already tell if your VAC claim is Favourable or Denied, once the status changes to Complete. Go to Current Benefits and Payment History. Click on...

Going off my brother's recent Lump Sum form. He received his Lump Sum form around the 6 week mark and received his deposit 14 business days later. It seems you will receive the deposit a lot sooner than it takes to receive the form. 14 business days is not bad at all.

Wow, interesting. Yea, let me know how it goes and what length of business day you receive the payment i..e 13th day. Just curious. My last one I received on 10th business day after signing/submitting the form. Hope you receive it tomorrow and it don't get dragged out like the recent Lump Sum...

Yep, 6 weeks just to receive a form is unacceptable. From experience with this form on how it works, it's not rocket science either. It's just simple math calculation for the Lump Sum. It's baffling why they can't action a simple math form for the percentage/lump sum and send it. It's not like...

Officially into the 6th week wait now for the form. As for experience with payments, VAC has been processing them faster than the wait for the forms. I am using my most recent one and also a buddy of mine as examples. Wait time approx for deposit of Lump Sum was 9-10 days. Hopefully that stays true.

The request for Lump Sum option forms are taking painfully way longer than normal these days you got that right. My brother requested his on 12 May and he still hasn't received it. Tomorrow will be the 5 week mark. Friggin' pathetic that it's taking this long for a form!

Speaking of VRAB hearings. After 10 long months, I finally received my Statement of Case (SOC) last week, but BPA told me due to the backlog, my VRAB board hearing will probably not happen until the Fall timeframe. Definitely sucks given all the waiting so far. Then it will probably be another...

Geez, that is an abnormal long time at Step 3.2. Normally, from my own experience, once it proceeds to Step 3.2 it goes Complete in a matter of days. It just happened to my brother's VAC claim. Went to Step 3.2 then 2 days later went Complete.

Don't hold back one minute. Go on your VAC Account if you have one created and submit a VAC claim for that. If this is documented in your service medical records, there is a good chance you will be approved. Go ahead for sure and apply. In recent year or so, as a general rule of thumb and from...

    Anxiety

Well, in a nutshell....If Favourable, a damn good hefty one. Should be in the 35%-40% range which equates to well over $140,000-$156,000 Lump Sum range. A buddy of mine just had his Generalized Anxiety Disorder approved for 39% and a Medical Impairment Rating of 35 for a Lump Sum of approx...

john86, you will definitely receive your Decision Letter "usually" between 1-2 weeks which is pretty good. Also, if it is a Favourable Decision, you won't have to wait the regular 6 weeks that VAC states on the letter. From experience, I receive the Lump Sum within 2 weeks of requesting the Lump...

Ack. Rgr that. Just some more info for Appeals and Reviews. The Bureau of Pensions Advocates advised me yesterday that Statement of Cases are 6-9 months behind from the date of when the Appeal or Review was registered with VRAB. Mine was registered June 2022 so BPA told me don't expect anything...

    PLD/Sea Duty Allowance

Negative, but speaking of Sea Duty Allowance. Any word on the payouts that were being worked on for the numerous personnel who are owed SDA for past Naval Deployments from 2003 to a recent date? Any word on what timeframe we might see it? I understand, yes, that this daunting process takes a...

Just some info here that you folks might already be aware of, but good to pass on nontheless regarding Appeals. I emailed The Bureau of Pensions Advocates (BPA) yesterday for an update on my Entitlement Review and I was advised they are adjudicating appeals starting July 2020. That's like a 2...
