    Medical Release ( merged )

I asked for the criteria and the reference, the response was, "there is something like 15 criteria" that is sent by email from D Med Pol to all the BSurg's across the country, apparently got lost or deleted. It's so fustrating at times.

    Medical Release ( merged )

I spoke to the BSurg directly, apparently I have to meet the criteria for this. I feel like I am losing my mind with CAF. Despite how much I loved it, I hate it just as much!

    Confidence Course

Yup, they do get inspected on a regular basis! The last time I did it was in 2001. I provided medical coverage for it twice (2010 & 2012), twice I had to call for an ambulance due to severe injuries from carelessness. Although I should mention that, twice the unit(s) choose to do the course with...

    Confidence Course

Throughout the years, many units, CAF training establishments have used the confidence course for a PT session or a training opportunity. However, I am beginning to noticed that many units or CAF training establishments are shying away from it. One reason that automatically comes to mind is that...

    Osteoarthritis Disability Assessment

Given that your OA has gotten worse than prior, did you ask for an reassessment?

    Osteoarthritis Disability Assessment

How do they get the Medical impairment? Do they just look under the Body Part associated with it, ex - OA in the knees - Just get the impairment for the knees? or does Osteoarthritis have it's own impairment? In my case, the Osteoarthritis I developed was in consequence of the initial injury. I...

Medical Employment Limitation ( MEL )

I guess it would be safe to say that the Pearls of Wisdom book would change as well with the new U of S. The other MEL's include  Specialists less than every 6 months, Medical less than every 6 months, unfit shift work, no running, etc, unable to stay alert. Unfit force test, no duck, no...

    Osteoarthritis Disability Assessment

Does any know how Osteoarthritis in joint is calculated for an disability award? I have read the entitlements on VAC site but it doesn't say it's calculated. Ex - Mild Osteoarthritis 5% rating       Minor OA - 1%

Transition Group (Previously JPSU and DCSM)

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. We have a lot of policy/ orders, from what I have seen , I have never came across the complete process! Perhaps I am just not looking in the right spot!

Medical Employment Limitation ( MEL )

To any MO's or PA's - When a Mbr receives an MEL that states " has a chronic medical condition with high risk exacerbation if required to perform duties in hostile or life threatening environments etc (can't remember the rest), During exacerbation, requires Level 2 care. Does that mean "High...

    D Mil C question

When you say Command, are you referring to a Mbr's Commanding Officer? or at a higher lever? For the Combat Arms as you mention above - if an infanteers RSM and CO recommends a promotion to an Career Manager, Is that what you referring to as "Formalize"?

Transition Group (Previously JPSU and DCSM)

If a posting to JPSU is strongly recommended by an BSurg for near future medical release and is supported by a Mbrs CO, how does a Mbr career manager go against them by not allowing it happen? Clearly a BSurg (Maj or LCol) and CO (LCol) get out ranked by a CWO? ???

    D Mil C question

I am only asking this question for GMK (General Military Knowledge) - How does D Mil C work? Besides having Mbr's career managers located in D Mil C, do they make the all the decisions? Do they have Supervisors ( Like Commanding Officers) that ultimately make decisions? My guess is yes but Does...

I appealed my Rt hip OA application, They bureau pensions advocates  (BPA) sent me a form to get filled out by an MO. Well I did, not only did I lose 1/4 of my range of motion with my Right Hip, it was discovered I lost over half of my ROM (range of motion) in my opposite (Left) hip. Giving that...

    PERs : All issues questions...2018-current

I know on countless times, I have had Jnr NCO's ask "How come my performance is less this year than last year, that's not right!" I always end up trying to explain to them that their performance can change year from year for whatever reason and they should never based their previous PER with the...

    PERs : All issues questions...2018-current

I am just curious if anyone ever seen a PER with very low performance with high potential? I guess anything is possible, but just wondering. I know personnally I have many people have great or even mastered performance with normal to low potential. Then I have seen "NO" right across the board...

Transition Group (Previously JPSU and DCSM)

If the member can work full days, no matter what their MELs say, a posting to JPSU is no longer likely to be supported.  Even if it turns out the member is going to be medically released, the decision message from DMCA will likely read along the lines of the member is eligible to be posted to...
