    F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)

Dutch Lightning Testers – Part 1 http://airheadsfly.com/2016/01/26/dutch-lightning-testers/ Some high praise in that article for the datalink capabilities of the JSF. It's nice to see someone not complaining about the program.

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

I was talking about the delivery of a brand new aircraft... The C-17 was first ordered in 1985 with delivery scheduled for 1990. First flight (not delivery) was in 1991 and introduction into service was 1995.

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

From a flightglobal.com article published last month: Ok... but when, in the last decade or two, has any large aircraft been delivered on time?

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

Wasn't that one of the main selling points of the C-27J? The shared powerplants and avionics with the C-130J were supposed to make the Spartan the perfect complimentary aircraft for anyone that already had Hercs.

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

That would be like the USAF buying their tanker from Airbus.  ::)

    CH47 Chinook

So what does someone have to do to get a ride in a CH-47F? I've been making parts for them since 2010, so every air-frame flying in Canada (at the very least) has a few bits on it that have crossed my desk. :D

    CH47 Chinook

526 nm (give or take) in a straight line, and that line goes just a few miles north of my house... so yeah, probably that. Cheers.

    CH47 Chinook

Saw a -47 overhead for the first time today... flying west over Ste-Therese/Boisbriand (north of Montreal). Pretty surprised, as I rarely seen much of anything from the Canadian Forces around here. Would I be correct in guessing it had something to do with the refugee situation, etc?

Canadian Armed Forces in video games (or the lack thereof)

Battlefield 2: Project Reality has Canadian Forces in two arenas (with multiple maps/objectives for each) I believe. With the shutdown of BF2 by EA last year the PR mod was able to become a stand-alone release with no requirement of owning BF2. I've only been able to spend a few minutes playing...

    AVGP Cougar now out

Any pics of a completed model? I'm never very good at visualizing what a light grey model will look like when complete.

Grizzly and Cougar coming out soon

The Cougar is scheduled for March 2011: http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/trumpeter.shtml I would imagine the Grizzly wouldn't be too long afterwards.

    Woohoo. 1/35 LAV-III in styrene...

I wish I could have taken more (and better) pics, but in traffic, raining, on an iPhone... that was the best I was going to get. Given I was on the 40 in Montreal heading West I assume it had just left Longue Pointe..?

    Woohoo. 1/35 LAV-III in styrene...

Since this is the thread that led me to these forums I figure I ought to introduce myself here. I was looking for info on the Trumpeter kit and how well done it is, and eventually found this thread... hooray for Google. It all started a couple of weeks ago when I saw this on the highway one...
