Since You had less then 10 years like me, you had two options:
1. Take the $$ and run. Some of it would have been put into a locked in RRSP and the rest would have gone into your regular RRSP as long as you had the contribution room. If you didn't have room in your RRSP you would have been...
In other words, bad PR move, and how fast can we regurgitate our collective feet from our mouths? Typical gov't. Sounds like a bureaucrat tried to find a way to save some $$ on the backs of the employees without checking with the upper echelon or the political masters first. Typical.
Oh well...

basically you loose 1 day for every month with 31 days. = 1 week of pay for every 12 months of MATA/PATA.
But read it for yourself. I'm no longer in so I don't know if the...
I think they know they're going to lose and are attempting to stop the hemorrhaging. Change it now, that way there when they lose they know the clock stoped at year 20XX. Instead of having just keeping going and having the numbers running up and up since 2006.
It's all a PR Shame anyway. ...

Hello Everyone,
Come check out and like the West Nipissing Search and Rescue Facebook page www.facebook.com/wnsarground
I'm the new Co-Chair and we are starting a new PR campaign to get the word out that we actually exist.
We are a volunteer ground based Search and Rescue Team based out of...
Yes that's the contact info for released members. Just Google CF Pension Plan and the links pop up right away.
I'm not sure what the contact info is for serving members as I'm out.
I was released 5 March 2013. I got my check about 14wks later.
Call the pension office and leave a message, takes about 2weeks for them to call back. They can tell you where you are on the list. For those of us released they can't process it until your severance pay is paid out (12 weeks for...
Yep, Sure was a long day and night. We are all very happy that this was a happy ending. Some of us involved with the search got to meet Alexi this past Monday. She is none the worse for wear, and is such a delightful little girl.
After searching for 14 hours straight it was certainly a great...

Occam,
Half of the value is locked in till I'm 60. The other $40k is mine. I've decided to pop it into RRSPs then take it out later. A slight savings on taxes, rather then taking the full $40k - capital gains.
It's all legal, I'll just eat the $40k in income at the end of the year. ...
Hitting the 10yr mark would have been great. I would have made it to 9. However, "retention" doesn't seem to be a word being thrown around now days. Especially since recruiting went 5k over their target. oops.
Or, like my trade, someone changed the TO&E. Medics went from Red to Green...
The Gov't has responded;

Not very nice of them either
Update:
Next court date is July 22nd or there about, still doing preliminary dancing around stuff, the gov't is going to try and get it all thrown out. Although, our lawyers are confident.
I will be posting updates here as I get them from the lawyers.
VAC treats us all the same way. Like dirt.
For my last two claims. One for a neurological disorder and one for PTSD, I got the run around.
For my Neuro one, oh I got the Service related SDA no problem. Then they only gave me 4% for the Seizures and 1% for QOL for 5% even though their own...
Hello and welcome to Army.ca,
Concussions are a serious injury. In the past it was shake it off and get going unless you were unconscious or vomiting.
Now, however, thanks to all the TBI's from Iraq and Afghanistan, we have learned a tremendous amount about Concussions and their effects. The...
OTWO,
There are several ways to get posted to JPSU/IPSC.
A little known way is to write a memo requesting it. I did. No problems. Write the memo, fill out the form and send it up. I was posted out a few weeks later. Mind you I had the support of my CoC.
Staff Weenie is correct though...
Any information and experience in dealing with VAC/VRAB is helpful. As all our experiences will differ, we need to help each other out, whenever we can.
