Why Europe Keeps Failing........ merged with "EU Seizes Cypriot Bank Accounts"

I'd say all of the Scandinavian countries could be considered outliers too, not just the obvious one of Iceland.  It's not a given that they would align themselves with Germany & Benelux.      The more things change...

Retire from CAF and entering Fed PS [Merged]

Got it - thanks for the help, as always. On a hunch, I used the website below to calculate the # of days between the new one and the previous one - seems it's around 700 days short of what I'd submitted, which means a wait of almost 2 extra years before the next increase.  So, back to the...

Sorry to hear that.  Are you leaving the job in order to do the training, or the other way around?  If you're going with the training, I hope your next employer is able to be more flexible.  Good luck to you.

Retire from CAF and entering Fed PS [Merged]

...and one final update:  my vacation balance was revised today, 9 weeks & 1 day after submitting the paperwork.  They likely had a large # to process all at once.  They mentioned that the "leave service date" was revised (naturally), but this doesn't seem to be visible on the leave...

Why Europe Keeps Failing........ merged with "EU Seizes Cypriot Bank Accounts"

Fascinating insights, FoverF - thank you for sharing them.  I will raise a question with the part I've put in yellow here: Maybe I've misunderstood - are you suggesting that people who hold full-time jobs outside the home should also be full-time caregivers to their disabled relatives?  Out of...

I respectfully disagree - DAA raised some good points.  I wouldn't send them to the ATI office either, but I'd satisfy myself that they have a legit reason, & make note of it, for the very reasons he mentioned.  It may be a side issue but one that can bite people in the *** behind the scenes. ...

    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

My last pd of PRes svc was < 3 yrs.  That had occurred to me at the time as well, about addl RFRG, but no.  Anyway I'll ask the OPI just to make sure and if I find anything different, I'll post it here.  Thanks again.

    CANFORGEN on Pay and PIL

Thanks for those links - very informative. In my reading on this issue, one thing that's not clear is whether it applies to mbrs who've already released?  In my case I transferred to the Supp Res (and took RFRG at the time), then got back in the P Res for a couple of years, then out for good...

CFB Borden gets first female commander

For my part, I think this kind of thing is still noteworthy, at least of a passing mention if not national headlines.  No harm in reflecting on the changes taking place in our organization. A couple of smaller points that struck me from the article: -Col Harris mentioned that she'd never...

Why Europe Keeps Failing........ merged with "EU Seizes Cypriot Bank Accounts"

Or... maybe they are of the impression that there's some waste that should be cut first, before cutting the salaries and pensions of the working poor.  In the few TV & newspaper pieces I've seen of people being interviewed on the street, it seems to run more along those lines, frankly.  While...

Nice of you to do that for them.   Like DAA, I'm sensitized to ATI/Pravcy issues lately.  In terms of the wait time for the paperwork to be processed, mine's been over two months so far - not complaining, just a heads-up to not book any non-refundable vacations ahead of time.  ;D

DAA, I was thinking the same thing - it sounded like it could have been a violation of the privacy of the "former-Reservist"'s info.  Not that we know the whole story or anything.

Great policy, & the quoted part in particular.  Kudos to the City of Toronto.  :salute:
