The Hardest Job in the World

It's a shame how many people are quick to despise the police and deem their job as a hinderance to our modern society.  You know today's generation.  I for one have every bit of respect for the officers who specialize in areas that most of us wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole.  They work long...

PT test does it mean my med is ok???

In my case I didn't hear about my Med until 6 months after I had completed my PT test.  I then had to do another PT test because my first expired. So, I didn't hear about it until after.

Military Support for Breast Cancer Research

General Question: Is there any way one can donate via Personal Cheque or PayPal?

    Are musicians soldiers or not?

My father joined the Reg Force as a bandsmen back in the 60's, and recently retired from directing a Reserve band.   He came from a Reserve Regiment, where he had qualified as an infantrymen, though he was paid to be a bandsmen.   He later ended up in Manitoba for Reg Force training where he...

    Self Defence and Protecting Canadians

As I grew up in Toronto, like many here I presume, I can vouch for this as a predominant attitude amongst many juveniles.  An example of this is a verbal scuffle in a school can lead to a lynch-mobbing with or without the use of weapons after school.  Who's to say that the same mentality can't...

Arnhem soldier buried 60 years on

Good to see the sacrifice he and his brothers-in-arms made during that operation and throughout the war has not been forgotten.  Nor shall their sacrifice ever be forgotten.

    Real Reno Nightmares

Not a problem.  With the underlay, just beware of any popped nails as they can be a problem with linoleum floors.  As for the cabinets, in many cases they are left in place and the subflooring is cut and removed from around them.  Takes a while, but saves a lot of money.

    Real Reno Nightmares

What may work best for you is to get yourself a gardening spade, or a similiar shovel or ice-chippier and try lifting them from underneath.  If the subflooring is original, it may be best to remove it and replace it with no less than 5/8" plywood, screwed down of course.  If the subflooring is...

    Canada Goose in cadpat !!!

I have a Canada Goose parka, and in Winnipeg I find I use it quite a bit.  It's very warm and very well made.  Worth every penny I paid for it (it wasn't cheap either)  I have owned Columbia products and I can't say I was too impressed in as many ways as I have been with Canada Goose.  I have...

    Tatto Parlour Recommendations (merged)

Tattoo's for the Individual on Portage Ave.  It's in the yellow pages.  A lot of good things going around about that place.  There's also Sole Survivor's on Osborne.  Keep in mind there are a few dirty parlours kicking around the city too.

    signed-off MGS SOR v5 - UNCLASSIFIED

Best of luck to you CFL.  I've also thought about discussing this issue with my local MP (Winnipeg Center) as well, though as a concerned civilian.

Homosexual marriage (social & military implications, and related events)

I think you are taking this a little too far bringing divorce into the matter.  I don't know about you, but I have witnessed my parents divorcing and if it is not something you've gone through, do not even try to bring it into perspective here.  Divorce is not condoned by religion either...

Homosexual marriage (social & military implications, and related events)

Homosexuality is definately here to stay, however there should be boundaries in place to protect the rights of those who do not want their holy buildings or properties involved with same-sex marriages.  Christianity, Catholicism especially, is very sensitive to something the bible does not deem...

Online Computer games[Actually All Things Gaming]

HL2 Deathmatch has been out for a month now.  It's alright, but gets very chaotic with stuff flying everywhere. You should have the option to download it through Steam if you haven't already.  Look under your Games directory in the Steam menu.

New Canadian Citizens Waiting For The Call !

Perhaps you should check out the profiles of these fine folks who are replying to you.  They've all earned a degree of respect, more so than you seem to be offering them.  Just a friendly suggestion. Good luck to you, Paramedic. :)

    When They Call

When the CFRC called looking for me, they initially asked if I was there and they did not state who it was until I got on the phone.

'We have a bunch of mandarins that shove this peacekeeping down the throats ...

Even civilian services, such as Fire & Rescue and the Police are not getting the credit they deserve in many places.

    Toronto ETF take out Gunman

We're very lucky in this county to have top-notch Police forces making sure that we live our lives as safely as possible, and that order is upheld.  From Federal level to Municipal level.  They abide by very strict codes of conduct, training and law.  I don't think we should be questioning them...

    Toronto ETF take out Gunman

I wouldn't necessarily deem what was broadcasted to be "good crap." I'm sure the officers of the Metro Toronto Police who were on hand didn't find the situation too amusing.  Neither did the woman being held with a Sawed-off.  The Police handled the situation very well, and the ETF Sharpshooter...

Modern Medicine? Why fix what works....

It's quite miraculous what mother nature can do for us.  I think in many circles, the head first plunge into modern technology leaves us negating the powers that we have in our own backyard.  It is up to us to learn them, respect them and use them.  Maybe in the future our race for technical...
