I am wondering if anyone knows how an ex-miltary tradesman can find out about contract employment overseas I.E. - Bosnia/Afghanistan. Perhaps a web address or 1-800 number.

Given the amount of money these guys are apparently offering in these "Security firms" the line up of intersted individuals will be long...but as someone pointed out, will the money factor interfere with the code of honour and integrity that most professional soldiers have.

You are right, the Canadian media does tend to look for weakness in military coverage and then exploit it. I remember standing on Parliament hill on parade waiting for Madam Sauve (sp) to come out and the media did not take any pictures of the soldiers on parade until one covered his ear because...

As for the media thing, I'm not a fan of 'em, The media is a tool which can be used for or against things...as long asthe the "things" carry a certain amount of sensatiolism.

Just reading the news about the mess hall attack around the Mosul area of Iraq. The Stryker Brigade 1/25th, known I believe as "the Lancers" are there. Fort Lewis in Washington also houses the 1st SFG. My question: Is the Stryker Brigade concept working well in Iraq, and do the Special Operators...

Kind of makes everything else seem petty, the news, the stats, and a civilian population who will never know what honour and courage really mean.
