Sounds like good money...I was doing 2nd and 3rd line (rebuild etc) wpns maint and getting $14.25/hr...not that good..they said it was good pay for the geographical location of the camp..now I make masking tape for a lot more than that...with great benefits and a pension plan...go figure.

I am wondering if anyone knows how an ex-miltary tradesman can find out about contract employment overseas I.E. - Bosnia/Afghanistan. Perhaps a web address or 1-800 number.
Given the amount of money these guys are apparently offering in these "Security firms" the line up of intersted individuals will be long...but as someone pointed out, will the money factor interfere with the code of honour and integrity that most professional soldiers have.

Just reading the news about the mess hall attack around the Mosul area of Iraq. The Stryker Brigade 1/25th, known I believe as "the Lancers" are there. Fort Lewis in Washington also houses the 1st SFG. My question: Is the Stryker Brigade concept working well in Iraq, and do the Special Operators...
Maybe our Government will buy some, but only if it is designed by at least three Countries and only if some of the contracts are in the defence minister's riding, and ofcourse only if we attach some sort of scandal to it.....oops there is the sarcasm again...sorry
