Painted and mucked up!

Well, back from KAF and after getting through a massive honey-do list (deck, fence, garden), I decided to start a couple of projects left incomplete. Here's the Griz under a lick of paint and some weathering:

Here's a couple small pics of the real one, you can just make out the rack in the rear. These must be very early AVGP's, as they don't have the driver's wire cutters or heaters fitted.  C/s appears to be 11C, and I believe the photos are from Norway.

And now an up -armour set is available for the new Leopard 2A6's. BTW, any Armoured experts know if we are calling them Leopard C3? If there's any LdSH(RC) going over on Roto 5 who wouldn't mind giving me a chance to crawl around one the new tanks, I'll get you a doubledouble at KAF! Time...

Are the AVGP in service anywhere in Canada, or have they all been retired? I remember that in 2001, there was a "Brizzly" version, and a couple were kitted out to fire the Javelin VSHORAD. 18 AD Regt & LFTEU did the live trials on it in Suffield. What ever became of those 6x6 that went through...

Normally I do use Tamiya's 3-pack of NATO colours, but this time I wanted to spray the Gunze. They do go on really nice, as they are semi-gloss, but when they get flat coated, they dry much lighter. There are a couple Stryker kits and the slat armour on the market now, but man, the slat sets...

Thanks guys, the kit is from a company called "Hobbyfan" out of Taiwan. They can be a little hard to find in Canada, I think I got this one from evilbay.

Cheers guys, I hope to do a LAV-TUA someday as well. Sgt Schultz, the brown is called "wood brown" from gunze paints. IMO, it is too light for the NATO brown we use. Next time I will use the darker/redder Tamiya brown. Wes - love the redgum quote. I'm always surprised at how many folks up...

Some of the kit sent for the AMF(L) got a white paint over. As for the chemical composition, I'm not sure. Probably something that was weak enough to be blasted off with a steam genny, but durable enough to last the FTX.

This is the HF resin kit with Diehl tracks. It was not the greatest kit considering the expense, but if you want a Lynx, it's the only game in town. I added a .50 and .30 cal mount, and the roof rack, which I am told was left on during the summer. The c/s is a from a Lynx that friend of mine...

Ahh, if you are referring to a specific incident, I think that may have more to do with a lack of MNVG than lack of wheel time, though I'll wait for the results of the SI.

I've been out of the loop for a bit, but IIRC, it stands for "Intensive Trauma Training Centre West". Wierd timeframe to be loaded on, as Sep-Oct is when all the fun happens in Wx.
