It's possibile, but it hasn't been sent down the CoC here as of yet, though. My info is up to date as of last week, but if it is true, I think that is a good thing for the recruits.

I can't say for sure if BMQ starts on 9 Jan, but I did see a bunch of new recruits in this past Thursday and as I was introducing myself to them I asked them when they started BMQ, the said January.
I would wear nothing less then a suit and tie.

Once you are on your BMQ, you will not be required to come in on parade night, unless instructed to by your CoC.

Have one more chapter to go, but I really enjoyed this book. It's not a very long read at 280 pages. The initial 2 chapters about his youth are little boring but it helps shape and explain his personality later in life.
I definitely recommend for anyone interested.

I did my Basic training at John Foote Armouries and it is a very nostalgic Armouries, as a history buff, if you (or when) you do get in, the history of your unit will be a key part of your training and very much encouraged...

If it is the Reserve BMQ you are talking about, and are not able to be loaded on, you will probably not be able to go to parade nights with the Regiment you are trying to get into because most units are in "stand down" for the summer. However, they may have some GD (general duties) you can...
