Giving the Recruitment Centre a Call.

With the Thunder Bay office I find it varies. Sometimes you get someone who just wants to get you off the phone ASAP, sometimes you get someone who might actually want to help. At the end of the day, and especially at that office, while these questions seem very important to you, they have to...

    Question

That totally depends on the trade and entry plan- talk to a recruiter.

GC Key Login has been disabled for unknown reason?

If you've previously applied, everything is fine.

Different paths for becoming an officer

As far as I understand it they're currently accepting applications for Infantry, Armour, and Artillery Officers. This doesn't necessarily mean that positions will be "open" in April, but I'd at least try to get the online portion out of the way ASAP if you can. I'm not sure if you can apply for...

Different paths for becoming an officer

I'm actually inĀ  a similar position and as far as I know, what people are saying is correct- they won't take you for ROTP if you already have a valid degree. What I get from that though is that you can apply to something like an Engineer Officer, and they may be willing to bring you in that way.

Role of Officer vs job of NCM [Merged]

Just to clarify- you intend on going into the reg force after you graduate with your undergrad? Also, are you sure you're not longer eligible for ROTP? I was under the impression that so long as you're working towards your degree, you are eligible. The only personal input I have is that a...

    April 2012

Yeah don't worry, everything is fine- the same thing happened to me and I didn't know what was up until I called them. It's just because you previously applied. So long as you sent in copies of your stuff, you're heading in the right direction.

    2012 Officer Interview Dates

Well, first you would need to be selected for processing, then you would need to write your CFAT, THEN you have your medical/interview. Since those are done locally, dates vary wildly. Even asking for dates before April is kind of a waste of time. Wait until then, see if your file will see any...

    April 2012

From my experience, I agree with the above. I had to re-schedule a medical and ended up paying the price as not long after my file was closed (though apparently there was some mix-up where they were trying to contact me to see if I was still interested). So now here I am, re-applying, which is a...

Am I weaker than a 5 year old?

Well, at this point I can cross them well enough (ha, the hand-by-hand way...). The feeling that my arms are getting ripped out by a gorilla seems to be going away as well. I suppose with a little more practice it will be more natural. Still, you can imagine how demoralizing it can be for a man...

    uestions about Future opportunities

Easily searchable (even on google). As was said, focus on getting into the Forces first... STARTING your search with something like JTF2 is like saying you want to play for the Leafs without even knowing how to skate. Ok, ok, fine- no one wants to play for the Leafs.

Am I weaker than a 5 year old?

This isn't the place to brag, but I suppose I should preface this with the simple statement that even by military standards, I believe my fitness level is quite high. Anyways, if I don't go to the gym on a given day (or run out of time there) I often run to the local park and do my pull-ups on...

    Physical

As others have said, do not underestimate the CFAT, it is much harder than the sample. My own personal advice would be to work on your times as well when practicing- the time limit was a big challenge for me, and really shook my confidence, but luckily I came out doing well. As for fitness, if...

Direct Entry Officer (DEO) questions [Merged]

Awesome man! Congratulations! Hopefully in another 6ish months I'll be in the same position. Still waiting on that backcheck. I can't remember who the other guy around here who was going for Infantry Officer is, but I'm glad to know you got it!

How long to wait for recruiting appointments? [Merged]

As others have said, there are places for you to find answers here. In terms of a simple answer, I would say that processing the backcheck can take a very long time depending on some things. They won't schedule an Interview or Medical (and perhaps CFAT) until that part is complete. Also, if your...

    just looking for some info

That's definitely one for the recruiter. My understanding though is the credit check is more to keep people from entering the Forces with unmanageable debt. I just started the process of applying as a DEO Infantry Officer myself, have the CFAT done so far. Good luck!

Talking to a recruiter will increase your chances by 100% Just to be sure, it's hypER not hypO? I would imagine that it would depend on the degree and your dependence on your medication. To get a good answer you should: a) Talk to a recruiter who will steer you on the right path. If your...
