SISIP Manulife is a separate entity from VAC. They are not the same even though they have similarities. Your saying that whatever you have from SISIP should transfer over to VAC if you are booted from SISIP? The 2 entities have different criteria that you have to meet. You may meet one not the...

Simon Logan v. Her Majesty The Queen

But DEC is a VAC program not a SISIP LTD one.

Simon Logan v. Her Majesty The Queen

Why would it continue beyond the 2 years if you didn't qualify as totally disabled? It's pretty straight forward you get whatever allowance you had on your release date for regs and at time of injury for class C. Does not matter if you moved to a different PLD area afterwards it's all about...

    Canadian Forces Income Support

I'm guessing if you check your profile on VAC or possibly the CFIS application that your spouse and kids were never mentioned and if they were then VAC just failed. Hopefully you get back pay for the years missed but if you never mentioned your spouse or kids to VAC then that will work against...

Post DEC - getting out of the house

It isn't based off of % of disability. Read thru the criteria below. https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/about-vac/legislation-policies/policies/document/1971

VAC will claw back anything that is added to someones monthly LTD payment but only once VAC completes that calculation. So if SISIP starts paying the added allowance amount to someones LTD now and VAC takes 6 months to calculate the claw back amount VAC won't touch the 6 months that that person...

DEC - Diminished Earnings Capacity basically unable to make 66% of your pre release salary. Yes, it is possible to do that as long as you incorporate.

Applying for DA while submitting plan for ETB. Fair shake or no?

DA isn't tied to ETB. The people assessing your DA aren't looking at your ETB application. However if you are DEC that would be something they take into effect or if your on IRB it could effect that as well.

Simon Logan v. Her Majesty The Queen

I asked the lawyers if risk/hardship is included for reservists receiving it at time of injury and the answer was yes. If it wasn't I don't see why I would be included in this lawsuit in the first place.

Simon Logan v. Her Majesty The Queen

If you visit the website you will see it was posted Feb 6th so they mailed it out to everyone they have information for after that. Since you were a reservist and I assume injured while on a tour you will be entitled to risk and hazard pay and any other monthly allowance you were recieving at...

Simon Logan v. Her Majesty The Queen

Lawyers have stated that if you have more added to your monthly SISIP amount VAC will be recalculating amd clawing that amount back off your IRB. The lump sum amount will not be clawed back.

    Decreased Earnings Capacity

To add to Kratz post my CM initiated the application but you can also initiate it by speaking to your CM or VAC. March of Dimes is the organization VAC uses for DEC assessments. If deemed DEC and you have less then 20 years of service and under age 65 VAC will add a 1% increase to your IRB...

Has anybody successfully transitioned from 75% CAF LTD to 90% IRB

Working or going to school and completing it usually causes SISIp to give you the boot which would send you over to VAC. Also VAC does top up the 15% so that you receive 90%. There is also a class action currently going to mediation for anyone who was recieving an allowance when released and...
