Processing duration for a Chinese-Canadian applicant

It's of course case by case, mine will be less than a year from application drop-off to walking in the green doors; that's with a criminal record from almost a decade ago and a few credit issues that had to be dealt with on the way.  Not bad timing at all from my perspective.

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

I wasn't told my score, the Captain who was supervising the exam just let me know I scored high enough for all the trades I selected, which of course made me happy and I left it at that.

BGen Ménard relieved of Afganistan Comd & other fall-outs

I never heard of him before this thread, so I took a peek at his facebook page.  Some of the support comments from random people are pretty nauseating.

Dennis Hopper. The end of an era.

Just saw this as I got back from my run. Another great Hollywood icon gone.

Processing duration for a Chinese-Canadian applicant

Sorry I just have to disagree with you on that - if someone has nothing to hide there should be no reason to fear the background checks or interviews done by CSIS.

    Credit Check Superthread- Merged Topics

I would check with your local CFRC - I had some outstanding debts when I applied but the staff here gave me some great advice, I went straight to one of the nonprofit credit counselling services and immediately made arrangements with them and started payments (The whole process with them was...

No Skull-shaped Bottles o' Vodka for LCBO Stores

Seems like Manitoba Liquor Marts have them too. Funny, I was in one of the stores the other day and didn't happen to notice any Crystal Skull on the shelves - that kind of thing definitely stands out

    Math for signals

There is quite a bit of time before any of those types of courses would be something to delve into, I just like having a few generalized goals that point me in the right direction and fine tune them when the opportunities come up.

No Skull-shaped Bottles o' Vodka for LCBO Stores

I'm not sure, I definitely have to hunt through the MLCC stores this month, my parents love those kind of obscure things to display in their bar.

Sleeping Brit Prof on Air Canada Plane Wakes Up in Hangar

I'm almost certain they would find some excuse to sue me for doing that, but it would be well worth it.

If your Wi-Fi is not password protected.....

This did get me curious, so I walked around my neighborhood with my iphone taking a peek at networks; nearly 30 of them were unsecured (Of course I didn't connect since that would be illegal) but it was pretty shocking.  I just use WPA with a nice long password of alphanumeric characters...

Mexico’s instability, drug wars, et. al.

If you find a crop for those farmers that is more lucrative than cocaine you could find yourself with a Nobel prize.  It would be far better to fire more money into rehabilitation services here where the demand for the drugs come from.  If there's no one to buy the cocaine, Cartels lose the...

    Long Wait....Hopefully worth it.

Ah! You do learn something new everyday.  I was a little curious as to why my swear in date was around 8 days before I'm due to fly to BMQ, instead of any other time such as June or early July.

    Iran Super Thread- Merged

Mossad knows what they are doing.  If you look at what is publicly known about them, it speaks for itself.  The CIA and SIS (MI6 fell into disuse a long time ago except for popular culture) are very capable of course, and you should easily assume they had knowledge of the Islamic Revolution. ...
