No.
The CC130J will not be made into a KC130J.
The J models will not be performing AR.
As the H models transition away from Tactical Air Transport and AR they will perform SAR only.
The AR will be assumed by the Airbus.
I personally love the location of the rank/slip-on "chest-paulette".
I am looking forward to walking around staring at the chests of female aircrew from now on!!!
Bring on these new flight suits!!!
This is purely from a professional point of view of course - so that I may render respects...
We only have two of the "stretched" Hercs in service - the H30's.

Yes, since those two airframes were only acquired in the mid-late '90s they are still in service.
The E and the H fleet of the CC-130s are ALL being replaced in the "Tactical Air Transport" role by the C130J (ACP-T...
No we didn't. However, all we could do is take the chunk of money that was given to us by the Govt for the "project" and spend it as wisely as we could. 4 jets plus the spares, training and 20 of service support was all we could afford with the money we were given.
It's a very good question...
The transport community uses Jeppesen approach plates quite a bit.
We have a published heirarchy regarding what type of approach plates we can use, and although Jepps are at the bottom of the list we are sometimes left with nothing else.
We then get the ICP school involved to help us "TERP" the...
Don't worry, they weren't the only ones to have been left out of the equation.
429 and 436 Sqns spent the campaign actually descending down into the WEZ and conducting repeated, multiple landings and offloads within the theatre of operation, actually landing in Pristina and a coupole of other...
Then, my friend, you do NOT want to be involved in fixed wing, multi engine, transport operations.
I cannot think of too many "operational" flying positions that will accommodate such a demand.
Best of luck in your search and decision.
Here you go Strike - hope this freaks you out.
This was going into Bagram back in late 2001.
It's an old picture.
332 knots in the descent (or 0.66 Mach if you like).
19 degree deck angle down (with a 23 degree flight path vector) - very little blue left in the PFD.
Passing through 15,420' MSL...
Yup.
They've been doing "Op Iceshelf" every year now for quite a while.
They stage out of New Zealand and fly into Antarctica routinely.
They can land on ice - the same as landing on an ice-covered concrete runway really.
The ice must meet a certain thickness before they can ladn on it.
Yes...
We cannot afford to delay the J model project.
We needed this project about 2 years ago - we simply cannot take any more delays for the C130 replacement.
Here's a quick snapshot of 2 ADATS that we picked up from Fredericton and moved to Cold Lake for 4 AD the other day.
A 5.5 hour flight.
While it only shows 2 systems on board, we are actually capable of carrying 3.
This was the first time we lifted and moved the Canadian ADATS.
Outstanding work.
Keep it up guys.
I know the days must be long and tough - but it's an awesome service you guys are providing.
If I was ever in need I know I'd be glad knowing that folks like you are busting your asses to come and get me.
Keep it up.

CA-2 landed in Trenton at 1825 local last night.
The CC177 fleet size has now doubled.
CA-3 is due March 2008 (third week).
CA-4 is right behind it and due April 2008 (first week).
The project is progressing well.
All the ammunition was loaded in the racks in the actual tank.
It drove on - the crew stepped out and sat in the sidewall seats.
It then drove off at destination ready to fight - that was it.
All the ammo and add-on armour added a great deal to the overall weight of the vehicle.
Here's a...
