    British reality show "Lad's Army"

Sounds a lot like the Canadian version they did a while back for Pilots flying the Lanc. Will look into it. Thanks.

Close Air Support in the CF: Bring back something like the CF-5 or introduce something with props?

No, you are right. The guy carrying the tripod isn't firing the weapon. The guy carrying the weapon (which would be the pilot) is firing the weapon. This analogy is much worse than the C7 one.

    ROTP 2011-2012

It tests your learning curve, not your skill at flying. It wont matter if you have flying experience or not as flying the sim is very different than flying a 172 or whatever. Everything you need to know is in that blue booklet.

ASCO, did not choose pilot - why CAPSS study guide?

Sounds like a goof to me. I've seen pilot applicants not receive the guide, and now apparently ACSO candidates who shouldn't need it receive the guide. I don't THINK there was anything in that guide that was relevant to the ACSO testing. The instrument flying portions in the back might have...

Reserve Entry Training Plan (RETP) [MERGED]

From my experience here, most people who signed up RETP are now trying to switch to ROTP. Take that for what its worth.

This may be a silly question about RMC degree's but.....

Well that last part is pure BS, the only part that changes whether you pass all 4 components or not (say you didn't become fully bilingual) is that instead of graduating in you Scarlet college uniform you graduate in your 1A's.

This may be a silly question about RMC degree's but.....

They are the most god awful hats out there. I agree with Sig Op, as long as the degree helps you in your career it doesn't matter where you get it. There are upsides to RMC to be sure, but there are also a lot of aspects of the college that aren't so great as well (and I'm not just talking about...

    Boot help!?

yeah we were issued those as our parade boots with gators at RMC, the stretch job over the toe is horrible, all wrinkled, they come fairly shiny to begin with (i wore them for weeks without polishing them once and was asked how i got them to look so good).

    Boot help!?

For starters which boots are they? The Mark 3's, or GP's? I had the same problem with my issued Mark 3 laces. too short, I just went to the Canex (cause I was at RMC and couldn't leave as a first year) and bought laces that were long enough.  As for care, if they are mark 3's just regular Kiwi...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Why apply as a mature student at all? I'm 24 had been out of university for 5 years. I just applied to RMC and the ROTP program normally. Was accepted. Graduated high school with an 86% average, we will not speak of my ill fated term at a civilian university.

    Suggestion for Coyotes

I would have to disagree especially since it's one of the suggested rounds in my province The holder of a varmint licence shall only hunt with one of the following: A rim-fire or centre-fire rifle of less than .23 calibre. A muzzle loader. A shotgun with lead shot no larger than size BB or...

    Suggestion for Coyotes

Cheapest would be just a plain old .22. A .243 win is also a good option for a little more oomph, and a .22-250 is also a popular varmint choice. A .270 will be more than enough and have the added bonus of being a decent deer round if he ever wants to go for that as well.
