    Retain the Monarchy in Canada?

I really don't understand all of the fuss about the cost of the gg or of a monarchy...considering what the government spent on gun registry alone, nevermind sponsorship scandal and what not....and look what those two initiatives have done for us... Also, the queen isn't some foriegn figurehead...

Reserve BIQ Course - Weekend edition - experience by others??

Seeing total shitpumps who can barely tie their own shoes pass a coarse ruins any sort of pride or sense of accomplishment on graduation day. People who have constantly bladed the coarse, while you have worked your ass off leaves you with a feeling of what the hell was the point. Moving along...

CT -- Reserves into ROTP/RMC (merged)

Yes, there are coarses run on the weekends. You join the regular force before you even get to RMC.

Food [and a little of everything else] at Stalwart Guardian 04

it's not that bad. i had it four times in a row on BMQ. However, that damn baked cherry dessert should be cut from the team. I havn't figured out what I can use it for yet... Lasagna is the best I've found.

uh oh? there goes the bivvy

The sleeping bag is not to be rolled as it ruins it. Your biv bag is basically a waterproof bag for sleeping in. I usually have my sleeping bag at the bottom with the ranger blanket on top, both in the biv bag, the biv bag in a garbage bag, and the garbage bag in the valise. Remember to have...

    Fahrenheit 911 review thread

I thought that it was a pretty good movie...however I began to feel very uncomfortable during the 'soldier bashing' part of it. We have enough people thinking that ALL soldiers EVERYWHERE are babykillers out to ruin the world.

Not Only in Canada you say! Britain Axing Units Also!

That would be quite a loss. The Canaidian Scottish Regiment is sister regiment with the Royal Scots.

The Closing of CFB Chilliwack & No Regular Force Army Battalions in BC?!

CFB Esquimalt has E boxes set up across the base and practice drills/run coarses ,ect to prepare for an earthquake. In the event of a major earthquake the forces don't plan on being huge on the rescue and reconstruction right off the bat. Realistically they will be waiting 'rescue' themselves. I...

LAV III Mobile Gun System (MGS)

I was under the impression that the MGS will not be a direct replacement. Instead they are supposedly using three systems to replace them; the MGS, ADATS and TOW Under Armour which are supposedly supposed to work together to make a "3-D" system or something to that extent.

CF Hair Regulations - superthread [MERGED]

Females can also be granted a "transision period" for their hair style. I believe this period is 6 months.

    Freedom

Generally you only HAVE to train one night a month. However, you are usually strongly encouraged to come out to one training night every week, and about one weekend a month. Summer training and taskings are essentially optional.

    Air Force's CADPAT name-tag & rank

From what I have often seen, many people wear cadpat slipons with gold embroidery in garrison and either black or green embroidery in the field. Works quite well.

So should all us army folk have CadPat now?

Yes, that's true. However, people confusing you with cadets would get a bit annoying.

    Gerber or knife? or both?

i have the seal pup as well. i think its a bit big, but buying a folding knife defeats the purpose of buying a non-issue (ie: gerber folding knife). fixed blades are just handy.

    How‘s the food?

some people have trouble keeping IMP‘s down. i think it‘s mostly psychological, something about it looking like dogfood or puke in a bag. i actually think the IMP meals taste really good. except for the baked cherry slab of granite of coarse (sigh).
