Not trying to sound like a know it all, but it has been my experience that the cpl or any member at any rank for that matter that has the  biggest influence on their promotion.  Yes the current system my have its flaws but hard work, good work and good attitudes and respect from peers do alot...

That was close, got 92 but then I live here.

25 years ago I was a member and liked the fact that it was down town Oshawa.  It was close to buses and even the GO station if that hasn't moved.  Made for fun times in the mess and could grab a sub before heading out on a bus to Whitby.

About the smartest thing said in this thread.  I want troops to learn stuff, bring them up in the summer, build some skills, build some routines, learn the area and learn how to use a map and gps .  When here in the winter it will teach troops how to survive tent routine -50 to 60not much takes...
