    Transferring to another unit (RESERVE)

In my experience, I'm currently attached out from my unit. I belong to 28 Fd Amb (Ottawa) but live in Northern Ontario and am attached to my unit up here which is a service battalion. All I did was write a memo stating where I would like to be attached and why (because thats where I live/work -...

Well if you ordered the items with your points system, there is no money transfer involved, and they don't charge you for anything, so you should be alright.

You know the army is getting into your brain when...

Knowing that it's a carcinogen makes it not a good idea to have near man land. I think I'll stick the the regulars. But hey, in a pinch...   ;)

    The Man Code

True enough, but thats why you have pockets... when your outside, there is no splash zone. Let 'er fly man!  ;D  Okay, this is getting a little out of hand.

Well I've ordered from Logistic many times and have never had any major problems with them. I would suggest maybe calling them and seeing what they wanted. They may have just wanted to confirm a size, or inform you that they don't have the size in stock therefore it will either be backordered or...

    The Man Code

I think this is funny, you guys will pee in a trough and race to melt the snow faster, but you hate it when someone stands at the urinal next to you... jeez... thats too funny. I'm not a big fan of the old trough system, but I do agree with the urinal rule, but if there is a divider, meh, no...

    The Man Code

That is absolutely one of the best things I have ever read on the internet... Makes life so much easier to go through with set out rules such as these, we need a little handbook or something with all these rules in it. Great stuff...

A few BMQ questions, looking for non-biased opinions/anwers

I doubt you'll have a problem with meals.... although you have to eat quick... its not so bad that you can't get seconds most of the time. I know with courses my unit has ran, you get like 45-60minutes for meals, but then thats my unit and we're a Service Battalion, so I guess we don't have much...

    Redue tests for CT?

Your CFAT (aptitude test) is valid for your entire career... UNLESS... you want to do a CT to a different trade, if you did not qualify for this trade when you wrote originally, you can re-write the CFAT to try for a higher score. Your recruiting centre will be able to find out that information...

    Fd Ambs vs Original Units

Well isn't that the fanciest thing.... I could change my vote after all... Thanks MCG!!!!    :salute: I put a middle vote in there for those that are "on the fence" as it where.

    Fd Ambs vs Original Units

And how stupid am I... I just created the poll and voted myself... and don't I click on the wrong thingy... jeez... Okay my vote goes for "original units," screwed the thing up right off the bat, right on! jeez....    ::)

    Fd Ambs vs Original Units

There has been a lot of discussion with the whole switch over with the medical world. Where do you (medics) think we belong? With our new Fd Ambs or should we have been kept with our original units be they Svc Bn's, Arty, Inf, Armd.....

    Medic DEU insignias

I fully agree that this may be a better option for the Regular Force troops/units, but as a reservist, it doesn't seem that the "outside medics" get the training or posn's that we should. Some of us that have been with our reserve units for years are much more suited to stay with our supported...

    Pistols

In the reserves.... Pistols are issued during field exercises or range exercises just the same as the C7 service rifle. Although pistols are in short supply and usually only issued to officers or RSO's (Range Safety Officers) and some medics will carry a pistol at times. But we are not issed...

    Medic DEU insignias

Has this change improved anything for me... no... I'm a medic that was with a Svc Bn, and have been moved over to a Fd Amb, if anything I have lost training I think. We are only brought to our Fd Amb units maybe 4 times a year, this year only twice. And now when we are in our "original" units...

    Possible Application Issue?

Firstly, my condolences for your loss... None the less... this isn't a reason why your recruitment process woudn't continue. You have to want to join for your own reasons also. You have to want to do it for yourself. Good luck with the recruiting process.

    Geneva Convention for Med Techs

    Geneva Convention for Med Techs

As I can remember, Med Techs (Reserve and Reg Force) are protected under the Geneva Convention in a theatre of war. (Correct me if I'm wrong) I know my section commander had her Geneva Convention "papers" or whatever it was, I think it was a card of some sort. Why hasn't this been done in the...

    Medic DEU insignias

Wonderful... so I guess we'll just have to wait and see when that filters down from the Mother Shop (Fd Ambs) to the little people in all the CSS or Cbt Arm units. Thanks for the info, this forum is very helpful.
