jan 16th is what's posted -> http://www.forces.ca/en/page/paideducation-96#paiduniversity-1
From what I understand your file doesn't get "closed" (as long as you meet the criteria), it just get's pushed back to the next selection period or worse case, next selection year.
They had to make some...

and that pretty much covers it since all your questions are about money.
As for letting him go see a recruiter, he should have gone the moment he become interested in this path. It can be a long process taking months...
Someone already mentioned that point about only processing an application if the position has an opening, plus the member has since been banned. RIP thread.
If MP is what you want, go for it! (MP does require a college diploma, call a recruiter to see if your legal administration education will qualify) otherwise, if you want something with an administrative touch, you're probably looking at RMS Clerk.
If you read his post you would know that he plans on having another job while in the reserves, some people work full time while also being a reservist, and obviously he wouldn't pursue a full time reserve position. The fact that he's looking at this as an option shows to me that he IS serious...
Any Coast Guard Officers out there that have gone through this program? I've been searching for awhile but haven't found much information other then what's listed on the website. It looks very similar to the military's ROTP program. I'm in the application process as a plan B if ROTP falls...
I highly doubt there is, when pilot is the most popular choice of trades for recruits, it makes sense to post ads for pilot to attract additional attention to the CF. People see pilot, get drawn to the application process and quite often end up in a totally different trade.
You just answered your own question. If it's application examples you're looking for, this thread (http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/13064.0.html) is full of them.
Apply for a trade not offered at RMC (eg, nursing) or go through the process and list Civi U as 1st choice, if only offered RMC, decline it and try again next year. If there's one thing I learnt in my years of service is that military offers are pretty much non-negotiable.
Or they may just view it as "this person can't even follow some simple instructions"
The recruiters themselves have nothing to do with the selection board, my recruiter barely knew anything about the ROTP program alone, he had to direct me to someone else. They make sure all your I's are dotted...
It's the military, things tend to be very direct and to the point. The question is: why do you want to attend RMC? answer it and move on to the next question. You can tell your "stories" during the interview.
Deadline is 16 Jan. Submit you application before then and unless there are some unforeseen circumstances you should be able to get everything competed. No doubt, sooner is better because you'll have time to deal with any curve-balls that might come your way...
You should talk to a recruiter, tell them what your situation is and let them advise you on a plan of action. There are many variables to be considered in an application, the only way to know what your chances are is to apply and see what happens.
As for mechanic type trades, there are several...
You can still be a pilot after having laser surgery as long as it wasn't the RK procedure.
