Good stuff. There's a lot of info on this site about joining the Reserves... search around and you'll find answers. When I wrote the CFAT for the Army Reserve in Thunder Bay, almost 2/3 of the applicants failed. Definitely focus on getting in first rather than worry about what to expect!

I'd hope the CF isn't so shallow as to exclusively vote right wing just because the US military does. Myself, I'll support any party that wishes to bring a peaceful resolve to the Afghan mission and has present and future plans to keep the CF healthy. Liberal or Conservative or any other party...

What I recommend to pass the CFAT: 1) Read and understand at least two novels considered to be good literature (Hemmingway, Callaghan, Austen, Dickens, Atwood, Odaatje, et-cetera.) If you want a really high score, go with Milton or Shakespeare. 2) Know Newton's laws of physics.

The recruiters said the CF "needs pilots, but there's a big bottle-neck with training". I was also told to be aware of the "closing of pilot until April '07" and to be aware that I will get "a year or more of OJT before going to Moose Jaw". ...these are quotaions from the kind and goodly staff...
