Yeah, pretty painful. Good work on the set, but some of the other stuff... Jogging with a pistol is dumb, and I never got Arids that looked that new...

PAL - Possession & Acquisition License

As stated above, nope. to be honest, I know people in the military that I wouldn't feel comfortable owning weapons. In addition, parts of the test for the PAL cover subjects that you wouldn't know anything about through military training (black powder, hunter safety, etc.) I was actually...

    Hammocks - looking for retailer

No idea, but it reminds me of a Simpsons episode: Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks. Hank: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third. Homer: Uh-huh. Hank...

    Long Range Support Weapons?

With all due respect Mr Seggie, I'm well aware of the Recce's usage of 25mm, air and arty when under fire.  I'm NOT advocating snipers or sniper weaponry in the Recce Sqn. What I was referring to, is that having seen the potential return of an Assault tp within the Recce Sqn, a ground element...

    Syria Superthread [merged]

Considering that UNDOF's mandate is to supervise the ceasefire and monitor the buffer zone, I wouldn't say they failed to resolve the situation, as that was never the job. I do see a current UN mission as an advantage. While I'm not advocating upscaling it to a Chapter VII mission and sweeping...

    Syria Superthread [merged]

I didn't specify anything of the scale of Iraq/Afghanistan. If anything, IMO we've shot ourselves in the foot with Libya by setting a precedent. Why are we there and not Syria? I'd argue the point that Canada has more national interest in the Syrian region than in Libya. While I won't presume...

    Long Range Support Weapons?

While I don't see the feasibility of supporting sniper dets withing the Recce Sqn, with the return of the assault tp concept, does anyone see the possibility of Designated Marksmen within it's conops if a course and weapons platform is ever approved?

    Syria Superthread [merged]

I lean toward yes. First, as a first world nation that wags it's fingers at a lot of countries that don't have great human rights record, I feel we should back it up. Does the nation itself have the political will and stomach for it? Probably not. While not common knowledge, Canada does have...

Sig Op course at CFSCE - Live off base?

Also, you may want to confirm that you'll be doing a new ACISS DP1 as opposed to the old QL3. From what I recall, the DP1 is only something like 73 training days, and who knows, you may spend little time on PAT. Wouldn't be worth getting an apartment for three & a half months.

    Needs advice

Some trades have specific educational requirements, and with competition being tougher for position these days, it's not something that can be bypassed. Honest advice? 2 options. Upgrade math and go for the trade she has her heart set on, or don't upgrade and try for a different one. That's...

Sure. It's my meek nature. I think I spent most of my evenings in B76 that course. Worked out well, would show up for inspection and my bed was already made. Touche

    C7, foregrip/sideway

I'm not a fan of using a ganster grip-style hold for the simple reason that you don't have complete control of the bore. What I mean by this, is that if you're using the vertical grip, the recoil is travelling straight back the bore, and is actually travelling over your fist. If you were using...
