Well the only thing I can see a problem for you on your medical is when you do your eye exam. They make you cover each eye seperatly and read off letters and numbers on a chart about 20 feet away. I'm sure if you can read off the numbers and letters with your left eye, it shouldnt be to much of...
In order to do a co-op program with the army you usually have to be in either grade 11 or 12. Since you haven't completed grade 9 yet there isn't a way you can earn credits with the military at this point in time, you must earn your grade 9 and 10 compulsory credits first.
I think 011 Armoured is probably as close to infantry as you can get, or artillery. I put armored and combat engineer as my second and third choice. When I got my call they recruiter told me I have been accepted to all 3 and could have whatever one I wanted.
I read that the other day in the Toronto Sun and thought what a lucky SOB I am for getting in when I did. I think paramedic should read this, it might give him some answers as to why he wasn't selected yet....YET!
Yeah it's on every thursday. I thought it was a pretty good show, although I didn't expect to see so many people drop out on the first day.
In the next episode the instructors have them dressed in civillian cloathes and try to do "point to point" while a team trys to catch them. Supposed to be...
If this is true, maybe the PPCLI guys were peeved because they didn't see much action and they are the ones who wanted to bail out the Americans.
Just a thought....
I dont think anyone will care if you bring a few bungi coards and aspirin.
And from what I heard why bring bungi coards because you never really "sleep" in your hooch, I had some adivce just to lay on the ground and use your ruck for a back support/pillow. (unless its raining) because you're...
I just bought a pair of running shoes at the running room yesterday. That place is awesome! They will look at your feet and give you an assessment of what the best shoe is for you to run in. It helps a lot to because I went for a run right after I got them and noticed a significant difference in...
Yup I'll be there. 031 Infantry. I leave on Halloween and get sworn in on the 27th. Only I'm going to the PPCLI. Can't wait to get this started and meet all you guys! :D
Cheers
I was reading the TV guide last week and came across this new show that will be premiering on the History Channel on Thursday, October 27th at 8:00p. From what I read it is a reality show about 30 British civilians that are put through the rigorous training all put together by the Special Air...
For my medical I had to strip down to my shorts and then he would look in my ears and mouth and all that stuff. They bend your arm and legs around and ask you "does it hurt when I do this". They also ask you do walk in weird ways so that it shows them you have nothing wrong with your legs or...
Camping there is probably one of my favorite things to do. I think the most important thing to bring is a small water purificator to keep you hydrated. You can get them at crappy tire or any surplus/camping store. They run for about 20 bucks. The lakes there (especially butt lake) is very...
Paramedic I was saying that to myself last night. My luck is always the worst when it comes to this sort of thing too and If I was left behind for this selection board meeting I don't know what I would do! But I got home today from visiting my friend over at Flemming College and low and behold...
Yup 031 Infantry. I have been hearing a lot talk saying that everyone either gets their call today or tomorrow. Hopefully you get on for November 2nd so we can do all of our basic together! Heres hopin...
Oh ya, I have a question to. Where is SQ and BIQ for PPCLI? Is it wainwright or shilo or...
I was put on the merrit list in mid Augest so you should be getting yours tomorrow or the day after that..... fingers crossed
What trade are you going for Maverick?
Ill see you at the swearing in ceramony because i got my call today too! BMQ starts November 2.
I am being placed in the PPCLI which is a shock because I am from Ontario and was hoping to stay here with the RCR but PPCLI is perfect!
This sort of relates to the thread of civvies being in the dark. All of the civilians that criticize you probably don't have the slightest idea of what the army is about (besides what they see the Americans doing in Iraq). Everyone automatically assumes that you will be immediately deployed to...
