Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

Yeah, thats what the Lt. told me.  She said I'm on the waiting list, but she wanted to be honest and tell me I'm pretty far down on the list.  She also mentioned that they had recieved the message in the last couple of days.  I didn't expect to be in contention for AERE anyways, I mostly...

Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

Well, I stopped in at the CFRC this morning to update some info, and they said they had gotten a message about me.  Offers for AERE have come down, and I'm waitlisted for that.  Considering that I don't have an Aerospace Engineering degree, and my expertise is in electronics, I'm not too...

Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

I'm also going for Engineering trades. CELE (83), AERE (41), and SIGS (84). Casing posted an update in another topic stating that some boards have sat, and they're waiting on the others to sit before sending out offers.

    I need your input.

Yeah, just to add my timeline, I handed in my application in  late January, in Saskatoon, got a phone call about a week later, and had all my processing (CFAT, Medical, PT, Interview)  done on Feb. 11.  A friend of mine handed in his application about the same time, in Edmonton, and didn't even...

Thats about my position, too.  I had a student loan go sour for a completely stupid reason, and the bank decided they wanted me to start making payments on the loan.  Problem was, I still had a year left of university, they refused to allocate more funds that I had been counting on, and  they...

    after the whole enrollement procedure

Actually, your english is alrigh (way better than my french, say), you just spelled the word wrong, in a somewhat funny way.  No worries though, I wasn't trying to make fun of you or anything, just making light of the situation.

Part of the security check is a credit check.  You're right, they don't check every possible place you might have a debt, they just get your credit rating from the credit bureau.  If the library sends it off to a collection agency (which I've seen a library do to my sister, without ever...

If the library sends the debt to collections,  it might be a problem.  They might look at the amount and basically say "hey, if you pay this off, you're golden".  I have no idea if they take an amount that small into account, but it will show up on your credit rating, and its better to be safe...

I'm not absolutely sure, but my understanding was that it was a showstopper not because of the amount, but because of the fact that a debt was there that had the indication that it wasn't being taken care of. EDIT:  I guess I should read all the replies before I respond... Basically yeah, what...

    The Election

Explain how less government spending means less money entering the private sector?  You've go the most effed up view of economics I've ever heard.  Health Care is a lousy point.  You can't say the Conservatives previously demonstrated anything, because its been over a decade since they've been...

That depends, I'm sure, on specific circumstances. I've got a student loan that I defaulted on, and it was listed as an R5 (I think).  When they did the security check, I had to get a letter from the bank who issued the loan saying that I had reached an agreement with them, and that I was...

    The Election

If someone is very adamant about voting conservative, I doubt they'll even consider the NDP.  First, they're take opposite views on a number of policies.  They're the two parties that are most unlike eachother.  If they have no idea what the conservative party is all about, maybe, but even at...

    The Election

Hmm, are they intentionally trying to capture the youth vote?  Could be a good move for them in 10 years time.  Well, as long as the people they entice now don't mature or grow a brain, otherwise they're screwed.

Direct Entry Officer (DEO) questions [Merged]

Hmm, I never realized that my interview was any different from what the NCM applicants had to go through.  If it was two hours long, it was just barely so, and it certainly didn't seem that long.  I applied for Reg Force, but I can't imagine that the interview process is much different from the...
