Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

EME school is in Borden. Its not good for either. Kingston is massively expensive now.

Could we like, take the next on ramp to get back on topic? We're half way to Timmins off the Transcanada at this point...

    Army Reserve Restructuring

It was decided, of sorts. Full move to Petawawa was supposed to be complete APS28. Whether that survives first contact with the modernization plan, we won't know for a while.

    Israel in the 21st Century

The recent peace proposal discussion has been moved to the political Hamas/Israel thread. - Milnet.ca Staff

    Back to Bagram??!!!

We'll be too busy peacekeeping against Hamas and Israel in Palestine anyways.

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Give you the kit and a plan? So, hand hold you? The kit isn't coming for years and the sustainment and training plan should be coming from the PRes if they want it.

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Are those countries 5500km wide? Geography is important, putting a PRes tank squadron in downtown Toronto or Oshawa or Montreal doesn't make a lick of sense unless we order reservists to train during the summers and have training centers of vehicles for them to train on. Simulators only go so...

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Light infantry yes, LAV-based infantry no. PRes, despite its bleating, will never have a reliable source of mobilization for current RegF tasks for mechanized or armour. They'd spend an entire year running just LAV Gunner on weekends, and half that time would be transiting to ranges. Even PRes...

    Back to Bagram??!!!

Hi. This isn't the Trump Admin thread. If we can't stay on topic I'll just lock it up. Thanks. - Milnet.ca Staff

Leave - mbr has none left

If theyve been allowed to burn all their annual thats a leadership failure. Christmas leave minimums should have been protected. If the member looks like they're abusing call in days, order them to the CDU, no more phone ins.

No updates ever since getting selected for the Reserve Army.

They've been parading for a month. Call the unit, especially on a Wednesday night.

To hire an actual police force to police the CAF? I think the value proposition is there. How many botched major investigations do we have to have before we realize CFPM is deeply broken or completely beyond repair?

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

This is a more concerning program than TFW. Institutions should be responsible for reporting attendance to CBSA, and those same institutions with an attendance gap above Canadian average should have their international student privilege revoked. Any evidence of fraud and we hammer all leadership...

How Much Does Your Ruck Weigh in SigOp

Our preferred unit of measure is Magic card decks or Anime DVDs, but those are our words and it'd be cultural appropriation to use them.

How Much Does Your Ruck Weigh in SigOp

You're pretty on point, Harris. We carry rucksacks for PT and for various army combat fitness tests. It's not typical of a SigOp to act as a "Platoon or Company Signaler" which would involve following an infantry sub unit and carrying radios on top of normal survival gear and ammo/food. If you...

    Compassionate Leave Planning

IIRC you get to travel twice for compassionate reasons when its for a serious illness/death. Once for the medical condition and a 2nd time for the funeral. Thats for the compassionate LTA. The leave is essentially whatever the CO wants to hand out up to their max. I've also never needed a memo...

Public service employment has grown by 31 per cent

We can reduce the bloat in the NCR and still require 5 days a week in the office. Many of the institutions in Ottawa don't need to be there but the black hole has a powerful gravity.
